Top gainers and losers on July 29: Jio Financial Services, Reliance Industries, Asian Paints rose over 1.97%; check full list

SUMMARY

Welspun Corp was top gainer in the NIFTY Smallcap 100 index, the stock rose 7.07% to close at ₹924 after it reported 41% growth in its consolidated net profit at ₹350 crore for the quarter ended June 30 of the financial year 2025-26. The company had clocked a net profit of ₹248 crore in the same quarter of the previous fiscal year.

The Indian equity benchmarks snapped their three-day losing streak on Tuesday, July 29, led by gains in the index heavyweights like Reliance Industries, HDFC Bank, Larsen & Toubro, Bharti Airtel, Tata Motors and Maruti Suzuki. The SENSEX rose as much as 539 points and the NIFTY50 index touched an intraday high of 24,847. The SENSEX ended points to close at 81,338 and NIFTY50 index advanced 140 points to close at 24,821.

NIFTY50 gainers and losers

Jio Financial Services was top gainer in the NIFTY50 index, the stock rose 4.77% to close at ₹322. Reliance Industries (2.09%), Asian Paints (1.97%), Larsen & Toubro (1.92%) and Eicher Motors (1.74%) were also among the gainers.

On the other hand, SBI Life was top loser in the NIFTY50 index, the stock fell 0.93% to close at ₹1,833. Axis Bank (-0.8%), Tata Consultancy Services (-0.72%), HDFC Life (-0.62%) and ITC (-0.41%) were also among the losers.

NIFTY Midcap 100 gainers and losers

NIFTY Midcap 100 index rose 0.81% or 465 points to close at 57,985. As many as 79 shares in the NIFTY Midcap 100 index ended higher while 21 closed lower.

Motilal Oswal was top gainer in the NIFTY Midcap 100 index, the stock rose 6.44% to close at ₹940. PI Industries (3.43%), Oil India (3.28%), Mphasis (2.89%) and Vishal Mega Mart (2.77%) were also among the gainers.

On the flipside, Petronet LNG (-2.65%), Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders (-2.58%), SBI Cards (-2.05%), Paytm (-1.71%) and Max Financial Services (-1.64%) were among losers in the NIFTY Midcap 100 index.

NIFTY Smallcap 100 gainers and losers

NIFTY Smallcap 100 index rose 1.03% or 187 points to close at 18,251. As many as 73 shares in the NIFTY Smallcap 100 index ended higher while 27 closed lower.

Welspun Corp was top gainer in the NIFTY Smallcap 100 index, the stock rose 7.07% to close at ₹924 after it reported 41% growth in its consolidated net profit at ₹350 crore for the quarter ended June 30 of the financial year 2025-26. The company had clocked a net profit of ₹248 crore in the same quarter of the previous fiscal year.

The conglomerate’s total revenue from operations also increased 13.2% year-on-year (YoY) to ₹3,551 crore in Q1 FY26 as compared to ₹3,137 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

Tata Chemicals rose 7% to close at ₹1,000 after various brokerages have upgraded their outlook for the firm.

Last week, Tata Chemicals reported an 80.57% increase in consolidated profit after tax (PAT) to ₹316 crore for the quarter ended June 30. The company's PAT was Rs 175 crore during the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.

Its revenue from operations declined nearly 2% during the quarter under review to ₹3,719 crore, mainly due to the cessation of Lostock operations in the UK.

Affle India (6.91%), Birlasoft (6.27%) and Go Digit (5.89%) were also among the gainers.

On the contrary, Zen Technologies (-5%), Signature Global (-3.09%), Five-Star Business Finance (-3.01%), IEX (-2.97%) and Credit Access Graameen (-2.58%) were among losers in the NIFTY Smallcap 100 index.
