Top gainers and losers on December 9: Kaynes Technology rallies 14%, PG Electroplast surges 4.59% in NIFTY Smallcap 100 index

Kaynes Technology was top gainer in the NIFTY Smallcap 100 index, the stock rose 14.42% to ₹4,356 after falling in the last four sessions in a row which saw it correct 30% from ₹5,408.50 to yesterday's closing of ₹3,807.

The Indians equity benchmarks ended lower for a second straight session on Tuesday, December 9, dragged down by losses index heavyweights like ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Reliance Industries, Asian Paints, Infosys, Tata Consultancy Services and HCL Technologies. The SENSEX fell as much as 720 points and NIFTY50 index touched an intraday low of 25,728 as investor sentiment took a knock after US President Donald Trump threatened he may introduce new tariffs on agricultural imports, especially on rice imports from India and fertiliser from Canada.

The markets, however, staged some recovery from lower levels and the SENSEX ended 436 points lower at 84,666 and NIFTY50 index declined 121 points to settle at 25,840.

NIFTY50 top gainers and losers

Asian Paints was top loser in the NIFTY50 index, the stock fell 4.6% to close at ₹2,794. Tech Mahindra (-1.9%), HCL Technologies (-1.82%), Wipro (-1.53%) and Tata Steel (-1.52%) were also among the losers.

On the flipside, Eternal (2.28%), Titan (1.94%), Adani Enterprises (1.53%), IndiGo (1.31%) and Shriram Finance (1.17%) were among gainers in the NIFTY50 index.

NIFTY Midcap 100 gainers and losers

NIFTY Midcap 100 index outperformed NIFTY50 index as it closed 0.32% or 188 points higher at 59,676. As many as 62 shares ended lower while 38 closed higher.

Godfrey Phillips was top gainer in the NIFTY Midcap 100 index, the stock rose 4.69% to close at ₹2,770. Vodafone Idea (4.57%), Tube Investments of India (3.83%), Godrej Properties (3.2%) and Swiggy (3.06%) were also among the gainers.

On the other hand, Coforge (-4.13%), BSE (-3.53%), ITC Hotels (-2.85%), Hero MotoCorp (-2.72%) and Bharti Hexacom (-2.48%) were top losers in the NIFTY Midcap 100 index.

NIFTY Smallcap 100 gainers and losers

NIFTY Smallcap 100 index surged 1.14% or 194 points to close at 17,246. As many as 68 shares ended higher while 32 closed lower.

PG Electroplast (4.59%), Delhivery (4.25%), Bandhan Bank (4.07%) and Aptus Value Housing Finance (3.68%) were also among the gainers in the NIFTY Midcap 100 index.

On the contrary, Narayana Hrudayalaya (-1.82%), Go Digit General Insurance (-1.78%), Dr Lal Path Labs (-1.61%), Tata Chemicals (-1.45%) and CESC (-1.43%) were top losers in the NIFTY Smallcap 100 index.
