Top gainers and losers on December 23: Coal India, Shriram Finance, ITC shares rise over 1.5%; check full list

SUMMARY

Losses in Infosys, Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank, Reliance Industries and Axis Bank were offset with gains in HDFC Bank, ITC, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Ultratech Cement and Tata Steel in Tuesday's session.

The Indian equity benchmarks ended little changed on Tuesday, December 23, as losses in index heavyweights like Infosys, Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank, Reliance Industries and Axis Bank were offset with gains in HDFC Bank, ITC, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Ultratech Cement and Tata Steel. The SENSEX traded in a range of 362 points and NIFTY50 touched an intraday high of 26,233.55 and low of 26,119.05.

The SENSEX ended 43 points or 0.05% lower at 85,525 and NIFTY50 index advanced 5 points to close at 26,177.

NIFTY50 top gainers and losers

Coal India was top gainer in the NIFTY50 index, the stock rose 3.73% to close at ₹400.65. Shriram Finance (2.42%), ITC (1.53%), Ultratech Cement (1.3%) and Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles (0.96%) were also among the gainers.

On the flipside, Infosys, Bharti Airtel, Adani Ports, Sun Pharma and Tech Mahindra were top losers in the NIFTY50 index.

NIFTY Midcap 100 gainers and losers

NIFTY Midcap 100 ended unchanged at 60,816. As many as 49 shares ended higher while 50 closed lower.

NMDC was top gainer in the NIFTY Midcap 100 index, the stock rose 3.86% to close at ₹81.55. Rail Vikas Nigam (3.04%), GMR Airports (2.62%), IREDA (2.45%) and SAIL (2.26%) were also among the gainers.

On the other hand, Coforge was top loser in the NIFTY Midcap 100 index, the stock declined 4.85% to close at ₹1,778 after the company informed exchanges that its board will meet on Friday, December 26, to consider raising funds.

M&M Financial Services (-2.4%), ACC (-1.74%), Federal Bank (-1.5%) and BSE (-1.5%) were also among the laggards in the NIFTY Midcap 100 index.

NIFTY Smallcap 100 gainers and losers

NIFTY Smallcap 100 index advanced 0.37% or 66 points to close at 17,659. As many as 60 shares ended higher while 39 closed lower.

Jupiter Wagons was top gainer in the NIFTY Smallcap 100 index, the stock rose 7.91% to close at ₹335. IRCON (7.65%), IFCI (7.18%), Cholamandalam Financial Holdings (3.43%) and Affle 3i (3.2%) were also among the gainers.

On the contrary, Aegis Vopak Terminals (-3.13%), Kajaria Ceramics (-3.12%), Neuland Labs (-2.81%), MRPL (-1.63%) and Cyient (-1.62%) were top losers in the NIFTY Smallcap 100 index.
