The Indian equity ended lower on Monday, November 1, as investors booked profits at record highs hit earlier in the session. The SENSEX fell as much as 669 points from its record high of 86,159.02 hit earlier in the session and NIFTY50 index touched an intraday low of 26,124 after hitting an all-time high of 26,325.80.

HDFC Bank, Bajaj Finance, State Bank of India, Sun Pharma and Mahindra & Mahindra were top drags on the SENSEX, but losses were capped owing to buying interest in Kotak Mahindra Bank, Maruti Suzuki, Bharat Electronics and HCL Technologies.

NIFTY50 top gainers and losers

Max Healthcare was top loser in the NIFTY50 index, the stock fell 2.67% to close at ₹1,132. InterGlobe Aviation (-2.19%), Bajaj Finance (-1.71%), Sun Pharma (-1.23%) and Adani Enterprises (-0.89%) were also among the losers.

On the flipside, Ultratech Cement was top gainer in the NIFTY50 index, the stock rose 3.56% to close at ₹12,013.

Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles advanced 1.88% after its sales in November 2025 stood at 35,539 units, compared to 27,636 units during November 2024, up 29% YoY.

Maruti Suzuki advanced 1.42% to close at ₹16,125 after the company said that it sold a total of 229,021 units, which is its highest-ever monthly sales volume.

Total sales in November 2025 include domestic sales of 174,593 units, sales to other OEM of 8,371 units and exports of 46,057 units. Notably, the exports reached an all-time monthly high.

Bharat Electronics (1.28%) and Eicher Motors (1.16%) were also among the gainers.

NIFTY Midcap 100 gainers and losers

NIFTY Midcap 100 index ended unchanged at 61,043. As many as 60 shares ended lower while 40 closed higher.

One 97 Communications was top gainer in the NIFTY Midcap 100 index, the stock ended 3.6% higher at ₹1,368.

Paytm shares rose for a fourth straight session on Monday and in the last four days the stock has jumped as much as 10%, data from the NSE showed.

The company on Friday, November 28, informed exchanges that it completed the acquisition of the remaining stakes in its subsidiaries from other shareholders for the ongoing simplification of the group structure.

As part of the simplification exercise One97 Communications acquired 9.99% equity shares of Foster Payment Networks Private Limited, 67.55% equity shares of Paytm Insuretech Private Limited and 51.22% equity shares of Paytm Financial Services Limited (PFSL).

PB Fintech (2.92%), KPIT Technologies (2.9%), Swiggy (2.51%) and NMDC (2.07%) were also among the gainers.

On the other hand, Page Industries (-2.56%), YES Bank (-2.01%), Alkem Labs (-1.67%), Fortis Healthcare (-1.53%) and IndusInd Bank (-1.53%) were top losers in the NIFTY Midcap 100 index.

NIFTY Smallcap 100 gainers and losers

NIFTY Smallcap 100 index ended 0.25% higher at 17,875. As many as 50 shares ended higher while 50 closed lower.

Whockhardt was top gainer in the NIFTY Smallcap 100 index, the stock rose 20% to close at ₹1,482 after United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) - accepted its new drug application (NDA) for its antibiotic drug Zaynich, marking a transformative moment—not only for Wockhardt, but also for the entire Indian pharmaceutical industry.

Indian Energy Exchange (5.54%), Aegis Vopak Terminals (4.78%), Cyient (3.68%) and Hindustan Copper (3.65%) were also among the gainers.

On the contrary, Whirlpool (-7.84%), Neuland Labs (-4.24%), Reliance Power (-2.73%), Jyoti CNC (-2.63%) and Kaynes Technologies (-2.37%) were top laggards in the NIFTY Smallcap 100 index.
