SUMMARY
BSE’s SENSEX closed at the 81,790.12 level, surging 582.95 points, or 0.72%. Meanwhile, NSE’s 50 share index ended 183.40 points, or 0.74% higher at the 25,077.65 level.

BSE’s SENSEX closed at the 81,790.12 level, surging 582.95 points, or 0.72%. Meanwhile, NSE’s 50 share index ended 183.40 points, or 0.74% higher at the 25,077.65 level.
The 50-share NIFTY index was led by buying in Max Healthcare Institute, which surged 6.34%. This comes after the Union Health Ministry said that it will rationalise rates for about 2,000 medical procedures under the Central Government Health Services (CGHS) scheme, effective from October 13.
It was followed by Shriram Finance (3.9%), TCS (2.97%), Tech Mahindra (2.78%), and Apollo Hospitals (2.5%), which were among the top gainers on Monday.
On the other hand, Trent closed 2.3% lower. Tata Steel (-1,65%), Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (-1.29%), Power Grid Corporation of India (-1.02%), and Eicher Motors (-0.94%) were among the top losers.
NSE’s midcap gauge, the NIFTY Midcap 100, advanced 511.75 points, or 0.89%, to close at 58,015.10.
The index was supported by buying in Fortis Healthcare, which closed 7.22% higher after IHH Healthcare Berhad’s stalled open offer for a 26.1% stake in the company was finally approved by SEBI, seven years after the Malaysian firm acquired 31.1% in the Indian hospital chain.
It was followed by FSN E-Commerce Ventures, the parent company of Nykaa, which ended 6.54% higher, after sharing its revenue updates for the September quarter.
The other top gainers included BSE Ltd (5.88%), One 97 Communications (4.82%), and Polycab India (3.19%).
On the flipside, shares of Vodafone Idea declined 3.97% after the Supreme Court deferred hearing one more time. The top court will hear the debt-laden firm’s plea seeking the quashing of the additional adjusted gross revenue (AGR) demands for the period on October 13, as the government sought more time.
It was followed by ITC Hotels (-2.49%), Premier Energies (-2.49%), Premier Energies (-2.29%), and Torrent Power (-1.97%), which were among the top laggards.
The NIFTY Smallcap 100 settled at 17,928.05, up 49.90 points or 0.28% on October 6. It was bolstered by gains in Delhivery (5.60%), Aster DM Healthcare (4.39%), Karur Vysya Bank (3.74%), Kaynes Technology India (3.33%), and Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals (3.21%).
On the contrary, Aegis Logistics (-6%), Ola Electric Mobility (-2.67%), Reliance Power (-2.58%), Aditya Birla Real Estate (-2.51%), and Anant Raj (-2.4%) were among the top gainers.
