NSE’s NIFTY Midcap 100 gauge ended lower by 2.21% or 1,263.30 points at 55,800.65.

The index was weighed down by a sell-off in the shares of Swiggy, which closed 16.75%. The stock hit a fresh 52-week low after the company reported its Q2 FY27 results post-market hours on Thursday.

The sharp sell-off reflects investor concerns over softer-than-expected performance in its key food delivery and quick-commerce businesses, alongside intensifying competition. The personal care firm posted a net profit of ₹342 crore for the July-September quarter (Q2 FY27), marking a growth of 4% from ₹327.5 crore logged in the same period last year. “Excluding one-offs and exceptional items, net profit after tax grew by 5.5% year-on-year,” Colgate said.

Furthermore, Godrej Properties stock fell as the real estate firm reported a 62% decline in its consolidated profit to ₹154 crore for Q2 FY27. In the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year, its profit was at ₹405 crore.
