On Thursday, the foreign institutional investors (FIIs) sold stocks worth ₹1,025.20 crore, while the domestic institutional investors (DIIs) purchased equities worth ₹3,516.81 crore on a net basis, according to exchange data.
During the trading session, the SENSEX crashed by as much as 1.21% to reach an intraday low of 76,469.72. Meanwhile, the NIFTY50 tanked as much as 1.1% to touch the session’s low of 23,901.90.

Shares of Infosys dragged down the NIFTY50 index, closing 6.50% lower. During the trading session, the stock touched a 52-week low, amid a sell-off in IT stocks.
The benchmark IT sector index, Nifty IT, crashed more than 6% on Friday, June 19, post Accenture’s lower revenue guidance for the financial year ending 2026-27. In its outlook, Accenture revised its revenue target to the range of 3% to 4%, compared to the company’s earlier estimates of 3% to 5% range.
It was followed by selling in Tata Consultancy Services (-3.06%), Tech Mahindra (-2.33%), HCL Technologies (-2.23%) and Mahindra & Mahindra (-1.81%), which were among the top losers on Friday.
TCS, Tech Mahindra, and HCL Technologies stocks fell amid a decline in the NIFTY IT index.
On the other hand, the top gainers included Eternal (2.05%), Bharti Airtel (1.71%), Power Grid Corporation of India (1.35%), Nestle India (1.22%), and ITC (0.94%).
NSE’s NIFTY Midcap 100 gauge advanced by 0.22% or 138.05 points to end at 62,517.30 on June 19.
The index was supported by Bharat Dynamics (4.59%), LG Electronics India (4.50%), GE Vernova T&D India (4.48%), Tata Communications (4.08%) and Aurobindo Pharma (3.87%), which were among the top winners.
Shares of Aurobindo Pharma rose after its wholly owned subsidiary, Aurobindo Pharma USA Inc., received approval from the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) for the acquisition of Lannett Company LLC.
On the flip side, MphasiS (-2.94%), Info Edge (-2.21%), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (-2.20%), Blue Star (-2.13%) and Persistent Systems (-2.09%) were among the top laggards.
The NIFTY Smallcap 100 index jumped by 0.42% or 78.85 points to close at 18,784.45.
The top gainers included Piramal Finance (7.59%), Poonawalla Fincorp (7.23%), Tenneco Clean Air India (6.03%), Physicswallah (5.96%) and Jyoti CNC Automation (5.30%).
On the contrary, the top losers were Kaynes Technology India (-3.47%), Zensar Technologies (-3.19%), Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals (-3.03%), Bandhan Bank (-2.98%) and Himadri Speciality Chemical (-2.79%).
