Top gainers and losers, Feb 26: Tata Motors PV, Eicher Motor jump 3%, Trent falls 2%; check list

Top gainers and losers: The Indian benchmark indices closed flat on Thursday, February 26. While the SENSEX ended with a negative bias, the NIFTY50 wrapped up the session with a positive bias, amid profit booking and weak global cues.

On Wednesday, the foreign institutional investors (FIIs) bought shares worth ₹2,991.64 crore, while the domestic institutional investors (DIIs) purchased equities worth ₹5,118.57 crore on a net basis, according to exchange data.

The SENSEX declined by as much as 305.6 points to an intraday low of 81,970.47. Meanwhile, the NIFTY50 touched the session’s high of 25,572.95 during early trade.

The SENSEX lost 27.46 points or 0.03% to close flat at 82,248.61, while the NIFTY50 edged higher by 14.05 points or 0.06% to end at 25,496.55.

NIFTY50 top gainers and losers

Tata Motors PV led the NIFTY50 pack, closing 2.93% higher.

It was followed by Eicher Motors (2.70%), Bharat Electronics Ltd (2.28%), Shriram Finance (2.01%) and Max Healthcare Institute (1.69%), which were among the top gainers.

On the contrary, Trent closed in the red, down 1.56%. Coal India (-1.50%), Eternal (-1.48%), Tata Consumer Products (-1.31%) and HDFC Bank (-1.28%) were the day’s top losers.

NIFTY Midcap 100 top gainers and losers

NSE’s midcap 100 gauge closed at 59,798.15, reflecting a 392.05 points or 0.66% increase.

The top winners included Mankind Pharma (5.81%), Oracle Financial Services Software (3.90%), Tube Investments of India (3.97%), Fortis Healthcare (3.68%) and Fortis Healthcare (3.64%).

On the other hand, MRF (-2.70%), Dixon Technologies (-2.58%), Muthoot Finance (-2.13%), Indian Railway Catering And Tourism Corporation (-1.80%) and SBI Cards and Payment Services (-1.62%) were the top losers.

Shares of IRCTC fell as the company informed the exchanges that the Ministry of Railways, Government of India, vide its order dated February 25, 202, conveyed the appointment of Navin Kumar Parsuramka, Principal Executive Director (Coaching), Railway Board as part-time government director on the Board of IRCTC, in place of Shri Manoj Kumar Gangeya, with immediate effect, till he holds the post of Principal Executive Director (Coaching), Railway Board or further orders, whichever is earlier.

NIFTY Smallcap 100 top gainers and losers

The NIFTY Smallcap 100 index fell by 1.05 points or 0.01% to end flat at 17,117.65.

Sagility (-5.26%), Aegis Logistics (-4.12%), BLS International Services (-3.79%), Afcons Infrastructure (-3.27%) and Affle 3i (-3.22%) were among the top losers in the index.

Conversely, the top gainers included Tejas Networks, which closed 20% higher as it signed an agreement with NEC Corporation to manufacture and supply 5G massive MIMO radios.

It was followed by Brainbees Solutions (4.89%), Data Patterns (4.61%), Aadhar Housing Finance (4.38%) and Newgen Software Technologies (3.32%).
