SUMMARY
On August 11, the 30-share BSE SENSEX declined by 388.19 points or 0.49% to close at 78,154.25. The 50-share NIFTY fell by 112.10 points or 0.46% to end at 24,471.70.

Furthermore, investor sentiments were impacted as crude oil prices remained elevated in global markets on growing concerns over the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
During the trading session, the SENSEX slumped as much as 0.63% to hit an intraday low of 78,048.26. Meanwhile, the NIFTY50 dropped as much as 0.6% to touch the session’s low of 24,429.25.

The top losers in the index included Tata Consumer Products (-2.77%), Max Healthcare Institute (-2.71%), Nestle India (-2.32%), UltraTech Cement (-2.14%) and Apollo Hospitals Enterprise (-1.81%).
On the other hand, Dr. Reddy's Laboratories (3.99%), Eternal (2.50%), Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) (0.82%), Titan Company (0.75%) and Infosys (0.65%) were the top gainers.
NSE’s NIFTY midcap gauge, the Midcap 100, ended 0.02% or 11.85 points lower at 63,843.85 on August 11.
Godrej Properties (-3.34%), Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services Ltd (-3.10%), Hitachi Energy India (-2.91%), JSW Energy (-2.60%) and Housing & Urban Development Corporation (-2.31%) were among the top laggards.
On the flipside, the top winners included PB Fintech (6.32%), Info Edge (India) (6.08%), Multi-Commodity Exchange of India (4.92%), Oil India Ltd (3.83%) and GE Vernova T&D India (2.08%).
Shares of Info Edge (India), the parent company of Naukri, surged after reporting robust earnings for the first quarter of the 2026-27 financial year (Q1 FY27). The company posted a 50.62% year-on-year (YoY) surge in its consolidated net profit to ₹445.73 crore during the quarter under review, compared with ₹295.92 crore in the June quarter of the 2025-26 fiscal year (Q1 FY26), according to a regulatory filing dated August 10.
The NIFTY Smallcap 100 closed at 19,857.15, up by 43.20 points or 0.22%.
The top gainers were Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd (MRPL) (10.82%), Gland Pharma (10.79%), Amara Raja Energy & Mobility Ltd (7.69%), Devyani International (6.28%) and Affle 3i (4.99%).
The stock of Gland Pharma hit a 52-week high as investors focused on the company’s strong April to June quarter performance for the financial year 2026-27, amid expectations of key growth challenges nearing an end for the small-cap pharma stock.
On the contrary, Triveni Turbine closed 5.63% lower as it announced its June quarter earnings. It reported a net profit of ₹50.5 crore in the April-June quarter of the current financial year, marking a decline of 25% from ₹67 crore in the same period last year.
It was followed by KEC International (-4.97%), the Great Eastern Shipping Company (-2.90%), Aegis Logistics (-2.74%) and Manappuram Finance (-2.52%), which were among the top losers.
