Zydus Lifesciences Q1 results: Pharmaceutical company Zydus Lifesciences on Tuesday, August 11, reported its earnings for the April-June quarter of the 2026-27 financial year (Q1 FY27), posting a 35.93% year-on-year (YoY) fall in its consolidated net profit to ₹939.8 crore.

In the corresponding period of the preceding fiscal year, the drug maker had logged a profit of ₹1,466.8 crore, according to a regulatory filing.

The pharma major’s revenue from operations jumped 20.74% YoY to ₹8,123.1 crore during the quarter under review, compared with ₹6,728.6 crore in the first quarter of the 2025-26 fiscal year (Q1 FY26).

The firm’s earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) declined 7.6% YoY to ₹1,929.4 crore in the June quarter of FY27, as against ₹2,088.5 crore in the year-ago period.

Its EBITDA margin contracted by 770 basis points (bps) YoY to 24.1% for the reporting quarter, in contrast to 31.8% in Q1 FY26.

The pharma segment contributed 78% to its business mix, followed by consumer wellness at 18% and medtech at 4%.

Under the pharma business, the North America Formulations segment made up 40% of its revenue, India Formulations stood at 23%, International market (IM) Formulations was at 12%, and active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) & others stood at 3% in Q1 FY27.

What the CEO said

Commenting on the earnings, Dr. Sharvil Patel, Managing Director - Zydus Lifesciences Limited, said: “FY27 is off to a strong, profitable start. We continue advancing into an innovation -led, patient -centric organization. Our branded portfolio now exceeds 55% of revenues.”

She noted that the share of branded sales in the US reached 11% and will continue to expand with the upcoming Saroglitazar launch.

“Backed by diverse manufacturing and robust quality systems, we will further strengthen our core businesses and expand our market share. Driven by execution rigor and acquisition synergies, we are well -positioned for o ur next growth phase,” Dr. Patel added.

Zydus Lifesciences stock performance

Shares of Zydus Lifesciences surged as much as 5.4% to hit an intraday high of ₹1,178.90 per unit on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) on Tuesday, following the earnings announcement.

At around 2:13 PM, the scrip was trading 4.45% higher at ₹1,168.80 per equity share. It has climbed more than 3% in the past week and 2% over the month. On a year-to-date (YTD) basis, it has gained 28%.

While the stock hit a 52-week high of ₹1,181.50 apiece on July 8, 2026, it touched a year’s low of ₹835.50 on April 2, 2026.

Zydus Lifesciences has a total market capitalisation of ₹1.17 lakh crore as of August 11, 2026, according to data on the NSE.
