Top gainers and losers on March 27: Tata Motors drops over 5%, Hero MotoCorp rises 3.13%, check full list

The Indian equity benchmarks resumed their up move on Thursday, March 27 after a day's pause in the previous session. The SENSEX rose as much as 459 points and NIFTY50 index touched an intraday high of 23,646.45.

The top gainers on the NIFTY50 index were HUL, ITC, HDFC Bank, HDFC Life, and Shriram Finance.

The Indian equity benchmarks resumed their up move on Thursday, March 27 after a day's pause in the previous session. The SENSEX rose as much as 459 points and NIFTY50 index touched an intraday high of 23,646.45 powered by gains in index heavyweights like HDFC Bank, Larsen & Toubro, Reliance Industries, NTPC and State Bank of India. The SENSEX ended 317.93 points or 0.41% higher at 77,606.43 and NIFTY50 index advanced 105.10 points or 0.45% to close at 23,591.95.

NIFTY50 gainers and losers

In the NIFTY50 basket of shares 38 ended higher while 12 closed lower. Hero MotoCorp was top gainer in the NIFTY50 basket of shares, the stock rose 3.13% to close at ₹3,760. Hero MotoCorp shares gained for third straight session.

Bajaj Finserv advanced 2.86% to close at ₹1,999 after it informed exchanges that it has acquired additional stake in its subsidiary Bajaj Finance. IndusInd Bank (2.78%), NTPC (2.64%) and Bharat Petroleum (2.19%) were also among the gainers.

On the flipside, Tata Motors was top loser in the NIFTY50 basket of shares. The stock fell 5.47% to close at ₹669.50 after US President Donald Trump on Wednesday announced a 25% tariff on imported cars and light trucks starting next week, widening the global trade war.

Sun Pharma (-1.40%), Eicher Motors (-1.04%), Apollo Hospitals (-0.76%) and Bharti Airtel (-0.72%) were also among the losers.

NIFTY Midcap 100 gainers and losers

NIFTY Midcap 100 index resumed its up move after declining for two days in a row. The NIFTY Midcap 100 index advanced 0.37% or 193.25 points to close at 51,839.40. As many as 55 shares in the NIFTY Midcap 100 index ended higher while 45 closed lower.

BSE was top gainer in the NIFTY Midcap 100 index, the stock jumped 4.90% to close at ₹4,694 on buzz that its board will meet on March 30 to consider bonus issue of shares. One97 Communications (4.13%), Max Financial Services (2.92%), Aditya Birla Capital (2.79%) and Bank of India (2.74%) were also among the gainers.

On the other hand, Sona BLW Precision Forgings was top loser in the NIFTY Midcap 100 index, the stock declined 6.20% to close at ₹466.15 following Trump's announcement of 25% tariffs on automobiles.

Sundaram Finance (5.52%), AU Small Finance Bank (-3.09%), Bharat Dynamics (-3.01%) and Page Industries (-2.98%) were also among the losers.

NIFTY Smallcap 100 gainers and losers

NIFTY Smallcap 100 index outperformed its larger and mid-cap peers as NIFTY Smallcap 100 index advanced 1.15% or 183 points to close at 16,119.85. As many as 65 shares in the index closed higher while 35 ended higher. BEML was top gainer in the NIFTY Smallcap 100 index, the stock rose 17.34% to close at ₹3,239 on the back of heavy trading volumes. As many as 72,000 shares changed hands on the BSE as against an average of 27,000 shares traded daily in the past two weeks.

Aegis Logistics (14.65%), Firstsource Solutions (7.48%), Creditaccess Grameen (6.34%) and KEC International (5.59%) were also among the gainers.

On the flipside, Kalpataru Projects International was top loser in the NIFTY Smallcap 100 index, the stock declined 2.36% to close at ₹985. Apar Industries (-2.15%), JBM Auto (-2.06%), Zensar Technologies (-2.03%) and Aditya Birla Real Estate (-1.99%) were also among the losers.
