Buzzing Stocks: The stock market was trading flat in the afternoon deals on Friday, September 27. At 12:45 pm, the S&P BSE SENSEX was trading at 85,701.02 points, up 135 points, or 0.16%. The NSE NIFTY50 was trading 1.90 points higher at 26,217.95 levels.

IT stocks: Shares of IT services companies such as Infosys, TCS, HCL Tech, Tech Mahindra, and Wipro, among others, were trading with impressive gains on Friday, September 27, a day after global IT giant Accenture unveiled its financial results for the fourth quarter and full fiscal year ended August 31, 2024. Sugar stocks: Shares of sugar companies such as Shree Renuka Sugars, Balrampur Chini Mills, and Triveni Engineering and Industries, among others, were trading with remarkable gains on Friday, September 27, after Food Minister Pralhad Joshi said on Thursday that the government is considering increasing the ethanol price for the 2024–25 season as well as the minimum selling price of sugar. 

Among individual names, Shree Renuka Sugars was trading 7% higher at ₹51.50 apiece on the BSE, while Triveni Engineering and Industries was trading nearly 4% higher at ₹489.80. Balrampur Chini Mills was trading around 7.5% higher at ₹658.50. Praj Industries shares were trading o7.54% higher at ₹817.45 apiece on the NSE.

Prataap Snacks: Shares of the company in the afternoon deals were trading 1.63% lower at ₹1,036.60 apiece on the BSE a day after the company said that Authum Investment & Infrastructure and Mahi Madhusudan Kela will acquire a 46.85% stake in Prataap Snacks, which operates the snack brand Yellow Diamond and sweet snacks brand Rich Feast. 

Besides, the company has also announced an open offer, triggered by the acquisition of a controlling stake, to acquire a 26% stake in the company from the market.

The acquirers have offered a price of ₹864 per offer share, aggregating to a total consideration of ₹544.17 crore.

The Phoenix Mills: Shares of the company were trading nearly 6% lower at ₹1,710.50 apiece on the BSE. Last week, the realty firm announced that it had won bids to acquire two prime plots in Mohali totalling 13.14 acres for ₹891 crore and will use the land parcels to mainly develop retail spaces.
PB Fintech: Shares of the company were once again trading lower. The stock was trading over 4% lower at ₹1,624.90. The stock recently fell after the company indicated that it may foray into the healthcare space.

However, the company, in its clarification, said, “We believe if claims were a quicker and smoother experience, it would increase the number of people buying health insurance. It would be much better if interests were aligned between insurers and hospitals to give customers amazing claims experience, and we believe that would grow insurance penetration.”

The company further said, “We continue to explore, but have no decisions to update at the moment. A decision if and when it arrives will be informed to the stock exchanges.”

Metal stocks: The NIFTY Metal index was trading 0.9% higher at 10,075.45 levels. Hindalco, NALCO, and Vedanta were all trading with decent gains.
