Stocks were in the green after the companies announced separate business updates.

Here are the key developments investors should know.

Tata Power

Tata Power said in a press release on Wednesday that it is emerging as a preferred partner for India’s fast-growing data centre ecosystem, with a diversified opportunity pipeline of more than 2.8 GW across renewable energy, transmission and distribution.

As demand from artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing and digital platforms accelerates, the company is expanding its role beyond power supply to offer a broader range of solutions. These include powered land, transmission and grid connectivity, renewable energy, energy storage, cooling and utility infrastructure to support hyperscalers and advanced data centre facilities.

Tata Power’s data centre opportunity pipeline comprises approximately 430 MW of upcoming load under its distribution network, 1,236 MW of transmission-linked opportunities and 1,150 MW of green energy capacity under active engagement.

With 29 active workstreams involving 18 leading global and domestic data centre operators, Tata Power said it is playing a role in developing some of India’s largest hyperscale and AI-ready digital infrastructure projects.

Adani Power

Adani Power said it had received a Letter of Award (LoA) from Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited (UPCL) to supply 1,234 MW of net power on an ex-bus basis from a thermal power project with an installed capacity of 1,320 MW.

The award follows the company being declared the successful bidder in a tender issued by UPCL. The power supply will be governed by a long-term Power Supply Agreement (PSA).

The LoA is subject to approval from the Uttarakhand Electricity Regulatory Commission for the adoption of the tariff under Section 63 of the Electricity Act, 2003.
