The scrip has lost over 1% in the past week and more than 4% over the month. On a year-to-date basis, it has slumped over 3%.

The newly commissioned transmission line will enable the evacuation of 1,000 MW of hydropower from the Tehri–Koteshwar generation complex in Uttarakhand to six northern states and three union territories (UTs), the firm said in a regulatory filing dated December 9.

The new line will channel clean, renewable energy to the states of Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, and Rajasthan, and the UTs of Chandigarh, Jammu & Kashmir, and Delhi, it stated.

The project was executed under NRSS XXXVI Transmission Limited (NRSS), which was acquired by Resurgent Power Ventures Pte Limited, a joint venture promoted by Tata Power, ICICI Bank Limited and global investors, the company added.

The project’s physical work was completed within one year, from November 2024 to December 2025, by 500 workers, after clearing 103 hectares of land.

“Constructed across some of the most challenging Himalayan terrain in New Tehri and Dehradun districts, the transmission line climbs to altitudes exceeding 1,816 meters above sea level,” Tata Power said.

The Koteshwar–Rishikesh line is the third major commissioning under the NRSS project, it added.

Earlier lines include the 400 kV LILO Sikar–Neemrana Double Circuit line (3.1 circuit km) and the 400kV LILO Babai–Bhiwani Double Circuit line (222 circuit km).

With this addition, Tata Power’s operations under execution transmission lines across India stand at 7,083 circuit kilometres (cKm).

Tata Power has a total market capitalisation of ₹1.21 lakh crore, as of December 10, 2025, according to data on the NSE.
