Suzlon bags 81.9 MW wind energy project from Oyster Green Hybrid One

Suzlon Energy on Friday announced that it has won an order for the development of 81.9 megawatts (MW) wind energy project from Oyster Green Hybrid One. However, shares of Suzlon Energy were down by 2.20% on Friday. Shares of the company were trading 1.41% higher on Friday.

The company announced that as per the terms of the order, Suzlon Energy will install 26 wind turbine generators (WTGs) with a hybrid lattice tubular (HLT) tower with a rated capacity of 3.15 MW each. The order will be executed at the client’s site in Agar, Madhya Pradesh.

Suzlon Energy will supply the wind turbines and execute the project including erection and commissioning. The company will also undertake comprehensive operations and maintenance services post-commissioning.

Vivek Srivastava, chief executive officer of India Business, Suzlon Group said that the electricity generated from this project will target the commercial and industrial (C&I) customer segment. This will allow deeper penetration of renewable energy in India, he said.

According to the company, a project of this size is capable of providing electricity to nearly 67 thousand households and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 2.66 lakh tons.

Earlier this week, the firm had secured an order from the Aditya Birla Group for the development of a 551.25 megawatts (MW) wind power project. The generated power will be utilised for captive usage within the Aditya Birla Group companies. The company said it will install 175 wind turbine generators (WTGs) with a hybrid lattice tubular (HLT) tower with a rated capacity of 3.15 MW each at sites in the Barmer district in Rajasthan and the Bhuj district in Gujarat.

The Suzlon Group is a renewable energy solutions provider with nearly 20.7 GW of wind energy capacity installed across 17 countries. Headquartered in Pune, the group comprises Suzlon Energy and its subsidiaries.

Shares of the company have risen by nearly 20% since the beginning of the year. The stock has gained nearly 292% in the last one year.
