Strides Pharma shares soar 10% as USFDA ends inspection at Bengaluru facility

Share price details: Strides Pharma Sciences shares rallied 10% to an intraday high of ₹1,056 apiece on Thursday, August 20, after the United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) ended inspection at its Bengaluru facility.

In a regulatory filing, Strides said that its flagship manufacturing facility in Bengaluru has received the Establishment Inspection Report (EIR) from USFDA, indicating the successful closure of the inspection conducted at the facility.

The facility is Strides’ flagship manufacturing site and serves regulated and other international markets.

The USFDA had conducted a current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) inspection of the facility from May 12 to May 20, 2026. Earlier, the pharma company had said that the inspection was concluded with the issuance of a Form 483 that contained five observations.

Strides Pharma had submitted a comprehensive response addressing all observations within the stipulated timeline.

The company said the USFDA has classified the inspection outcome as Voluntary Action Indicated (VAI) and issued the Establishment Inspection Report (EIR), concluding the inspection based on Strides’ response and the corrective and preventive actions implemented.

“The successful closure of the inspection further strengthens Strides' regulatory track record and reinforces the company's commitment to supplying high-quality pharmaceutical products to patients across global markets,” the firm added.

The Bengaluru facility of Strides manufactures a broad portfolio of pharmaceutical dosage forms, including tablets, capsules and oral liquids, supporting both existing commercial products and future growth opportunities.

Strides Pharma Q1 earnings

Strides Pharma Science had posted a 56.7% rise in profit after tax at ₹165.5 crore in the first quarter ended June 30, on the back of strong growth in markets excluding the US. The company had registered a profit after tax of ₹105.6 crore in the corresponding quarter last fiscal.

Its revenue in the first quarter stood at ₹1,265.4 crore as against ₹1,119.7 crore in the year-ago period.

The company had said its ex-US markets revenue was at ₹587.5 crore, up 17% YoY, driven by strong performance across markets, while US business remained steady at ₹628.2 crore, up 4%.

Strides Pharma share price trends

At 11:20 AM, Strides Pharma Sciences shares were trading at ₹988.7 apiece on the National Stock Exchange, rising 3.26%.

From the beginning of the year, Strides Pharma shares have gained 8%. Over a month’s time, the stock has slipped 7%, while it has surged 14% in the past six months.

Shares of the firm had hit a 52-week high of ₹1,231 on May 12, 2026, and a 52-week low of ₹768.65 on January 29, 2026.

According to NSE data, as of August 20, 2026, Strides Pharma has a total market capitalisation of ₹9,106.66 crore.
