NIFTY50 and SENSEX traded higher in the mid-afternoon session on August 11. As many as 51 stocks hit their 52-week highs on the NSE amid positive sentiments and strong buying in the overall market.

NIFTY50 and SENSEX started the week on a positive note, rebounding sharply compared to Friday’s closing. NIFTY50 traded above the 24,550 level, rising 0.8% today with a day high of 24,583, while SENSEX gained over 650 points or 0.8% to trade above the 80,500 level as of 2:30 pm.

NIFTY PSU Bank and NIFTY Realty were among the top sectoral gainers, gaining 2.1% and 1.8% respectively. Among the NIFTY50 stocks, Adani Enterprises, Tata Motors, Eternal and Trent rose between 2.5% and 5%, while Hero MotoCorp, ICICI Bank, Bharat Electronics traded lower.

Broader market indices like NIFTY Midcap100 (+0.9%) and NIFTY Smallcap100 (+0.4%) also traded higher today. As many as 51 stocks hit their 52-week highs on the NSE.

Investors' sentiments turned positive today after US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed to hold talks on August 15 in Alaska to negotiate an end to the war in Ukraine.
