Sterlite Tech shares rally 5% to 52-week high on inkining long-term supply agreement for $1.2 billion; stock soars 826% YTD

Sterlite Technologies share price: Shares of Sterlite Technologies climbed as much as 5% to hit a 52-week and intraday high of ₹955.35 per unit on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) on Thursday, October 1, compared with Wednesday’s closing price of ₹909.90 apiece.

The stock came under buying interest as the company received a Long-Term Supply Agreement (LTSA) worth $1.2 billion from an international hyperscale partner.

More specifically, the contract has a total potential value of approximately $1.2 billion over its tenure, based on prevailing selling prices of connectivity products being supplied.

Under the agreement, Sterlite Technologies will be expected to supply optical connectivity products as per customer specifications, and the agreement will be valid up to December 2030.

Details of the contract

As per the filing, the agreement focuses on the allocation of optical connectivity products, which are expected to be supplied in each calendar year (CY) from CY26 to CY30.

Furthermore, the international hyperscale partner will periodically release purchase orders during the contract period, Sterlite Technologies said, adding that the agreement establishes a reciprocal risk-sharing framework by defining mutual, capped financial liabilities for both parties in the event of demand or supply capacity shortfalls or failures.

Recent update

In a separate regulatory filing dated September 24, the company said that it has strengthened its Neuralis portfolio with the launch of pre-terminated fiber trunk assemblies to power hyperscale data centers.

It further stated that it has launched pre-terminated fiber trunk assemblies ranging from 48F to 6912F.

The firm added that the newly launched fibre cables are a high-density cabling portfolio purpose-built for hyperscale and enterprise data centers navigating an unprecedented surge in bandwidth demand driven by AI, cloud, and high-performance computing workloads.

Sterlite Tech stock performance

At around 2:50 PM, the scrip was trading 4.09% higher at ₹947.10 per equity share. The stock touched a year’s low of ₹84.60 per unit.

The shares have surged 15% in the past week and 37% over the month. On a year-to-date (YTD) basis, they have zoomed over 826%.

Sterlite Technologies has a total market capitalisation of ₹48,694.09 crore as of October 1, 2026, according to data on the NSE.
