Stock market today: The bulls were in the driver's seat on Tuesday, March 18, as the stock market was trading with healthy gains across the board.

At 12:13 PM, the S&P BSE SENSEX was trading at 75,049.84, up 879.89 points, or 1.19%, while the NSE's NIFTY50 index was trading at 22,769.20, up 260.45 points, or 1.16%.

All the sectoral indices were trading in the green, with industrials and consumer discretionary stocks leading the pack.

In the broader market, the BSE MidCap index was trading at 39,975.87, up 611.79 points, or 1.55%, while the BSE SmallCap index was ruling at 44,816.12, up 981.85 points, or 2.24%.

Here is a list of stocks that are buzzing in today's trade.
Zomato: Shares of Zomato Ltd rallied as much as 5.96% to ₹216 apiece on the BSE. Earlier this month, the shareholders of Zomato approved a special resolution to rename the firm 'Eternal'.

The brand name of the company's food delivery business, Zomato, will remain the same, along with the app.

Eternal will comprise four major businesses (as of now) -- Zomato, Blinkit, District, and Hyperpure.

Morepen Laboratories: Shares of Morepen Laboratories surged as much as 12.6% to ₹48.25 apiece on the NSE after the pharma company on Monday, March 17, after market hours, announced the launch of Empamore, "a game-changing treatment for Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM), Heart Failure with Reduced Ejection Fraction (HFrEF), and Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD)."

"With India being the diabetes capital of the world and over 101 million people suffering from the disease, Empamore is poised to make a significant impact by offering high-quality treatment at an affordable price point, empowering millions of Indians to take control of their health," the company said in its press release.

Ircon International: Shares of the PSU surged as much as 8.85% to ₹150.40 apiece on the NSE after the company informed stock exchanges on Monday evening that its joint venture with Badri Rai and Company won a contract from the government of Meghalaya.

IRCON International informed exchanges that its joint venture (JV) with Badri Rai and Company won a contract worth ₹1,096 crore from the Directorate of Urban Affairs, the government of Meghalaya, for the construction of a new secretariat complex along with a campus infrastructure on an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) basis in New Shillong City, Meghalaya.

Mastek: The stock was trading over 14% higher at ₹2,413 on the NSE. Last month, the company announced it had won a multi-year, multi-million dollar contract from the UK Public Service Department.

In its regulatory filing, Mastek said it has secured multiple contracts with an estimated value of $85 million from a UK public service department, spread over 2 years.

Castrol India: Shares were trading over 2% lower at ₹221.95 apiece on the BSE as the shares turned ex-dividend. The company had declared a total dividend of ₹13 per equity share.
Jyoti Structures: Jyoti Structures' stock was trading over 16% higher at ₹18.33 apiece on the NSE. The company specialises in turnkey solutions for high-voltage power transmission lines, substations, and distribution lines.
Gensol Engineering: Shares continued to reel under pressure. The stock was locked at the 5% lower circuit.
Aditya Birla Real Estate: The stock was trading 7.34% higher at ₹1,889 on the NSE after Birla Estates, a subsidiary of Aditya Birla Real Estate Ltd., said it was expecting a revenue of ₹2,700 crore from its first housing project in Pune.

In a regulatory filing, Aditya Birla Real Estate informed that its subsidiary Birla Estates has launched its first project in Pune, 'Birla Punya,' with an estimated revenue potential value of ₹2,700 crore.

Varun Beverages: Shares of Varun Beverages, one of the largest franchisees of PepsiCo in the world (outside the US), surged as much as 5.66% to ₹536 apiece on the NSE on Tuesday, March 18, as the summer season in India begins. The stock has jumped over 14% in the past 30 days.

The company reported a 40.2% increase in its consolidated net profit to ₹185.14 crore in the three months ended December 31, 2024. In the year-ago quarter, the post-tax profit was ₹131.97 crore. The company follows the calendar year (January to December) for its financial reporting.

Paytm: Shares of One 97 Communications, the parent company of Paytm, were trading 6.7% higher at ₹734.90 apiece on the NSE after the company said that it has received market regulator SEBI’s nod on Paytm Money providing services as a research analyst.

With this registration, Paytm Money Limited can offer SEBI-compliant research services, including investment insights, research reports, and data-driven analysis.

L&T: The stock was up over 2% at ₹3,241.90 on the NSE. Earlier this month, L&T said its power transmission and distribution vertical has secured new orders in the domestic market and overseas.

In India, the company has received an order to implement transmission line segments for a renewable energy zone in Uttar Pradesh.

Ola Electric Mobility: Shares were trading nearly 14% higher at ₹53.40 apiece on the NSE.
