The Indian equity benchmarks extended gains in noon deals on Tuesday, August 19, led by gains in index heavyweights like Reliance Industries, Bharti Airtel, Tata Motors, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Infosys and Eternal. The SENSEX rose as much as 482 points to hit an intraday high of 81,755 and NIFTY50 index reclaimed its important psychological level of 25,000. As of 12:40 pm, the SENSEX was up 462 points at 81,733 and NIFTY50 index advanced 127 points to 25,003.
Through this JV, RCPL is focused on offering consumers a range of herbal-natural beverages, thus further enhancing its presence as a total beverage company. "The healthy functional beverage space presents a large and rapidly expanding opportunity, driven by a strong consumer shift toward healthier, natural alternatives," RIL said in its press release.
Meanwhile, reports suggested that RIL's telecom arm, Reliance Jio, has discontinued its entry-level plan of 1 GB per day at ₹209 for 22 days and at ₹249 for 28 days. "Jio subscribers now have no choice but to move up to the next plan of ₹299, which offers 1.5 GB per day for 28 days," NDTV Profit reported.
The metals and mining company said that the record date for determining the entitlement of equity shareholders to the proposed dividend, if declared, has been set as August 27, 2025 (Wednesday).
Vedanta had approved the first interim dividend for the current financial year on June 18, 2025. Its board of directors had nodded a dividend payment of ₹7 per share, amounting to ₹2,737 crore.
Following the government's move, shares of Vardhman Textiles rose as much as 9.33% to hit an intraday high of ₹447.50. Arvind Ltd shares advanced 2%, Raymond Lifestyle gained 7%, Gokaldas Exports climbed 2.5%, Indo Count Industries gained 3.65%, Alok Industries rose 2.11% and Kitex Garments rose 5%.
The Finance Ministry on Monday scrapped the 11% duty on imports of raw cotton for a period of 42 days.
In an interview with Moneycontrol, Aggarwal said products with the 4,680 cell will reach customers by Navratri. The EV maker’s Tamil Nadu plant is in full production ahead of the launch.
