Traders remained cautious due to the uncertainty related to the ongoing third round of negotiations between Iran and the United States. Although the markets are expecting a peace deal by this week, the escalations and latest attack reports in West Asia have weighed down the positive sentiment.

At 3:30 pm, the NIFTY50 index closed 0.03% or 6.55 points lower at 23,907.15 points after Wednesday’s trading session, compared to 23,913.70 points at the previous market close, according to the exchange data.

The BSE SENSEX index closed 0.19% or 141.90 points lower at 75,867.80 points after the trading session on May 27, compared to 76,009.70 points at the previous market session, according to the exchange data.

During the trading session, the benchmark indices witnessed high volatility, rising higher after a subdued opening. After trading higher for some time during the morning market session, the stock indices dropped in the red during the afternoon trading hours.

The indices were witnessing foreign investor outflow pressures, amid domestic buying support, which maintained the indices closing near flat levels amid the overall weak market.
