Sarda Energy, Astral, Sun TV shares surge amid spike in volumes; check full list

The Indian equity benchmarks erased most if the intraday losses in noon deals on Thursday, August 13, tracking a decline in crude prices in global markets. The SENSEX which fell as much as 300 points turned flat in noon deals and was down 32 points at 77,934 and NIFTY50 index was down 42 points at 24,394 as of 1:53 pm.

Here are stocks witnessing heavier than usual trading volumes:
Sarda Energy and Minerals: Shares of the iron and steel company rose as much as 11% to hit an intraday high of ₹542 amid spike in trading activity.

Trading volumes on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) jumped 83.3 times to 1.92 crore shares compared with an average volume of 2.3 lakh shares.

As many as 10.75 lakh shares changed hands on the BSE compared with an average of 36,000 shares traded daily in the past two weeks.

Astral: Shares of plastic products maker advanced as much as 9.6% to hit an intraday high of ₹1,599 after its revenue from operations rose 16% to ₹1,578 crore in the first quarter of current financial year from ₹1,361 crore in the same period last year.

Its EBITDA jumped 26% annually to ₹2,440 crore.

Trading volume in the stock jumped by 45 times to 1.02 crore shares compared with an average volume of 2.28 lakh shares.

Sun TV: Shares of the television broadcasting company rose as much as 6.9% to hit an intraday high of ₹511 after its net profit in first quarter rose 16% to ₹612 crore.

The company's revenue from operations advanced 13% to ₹1,423 crore.

Trading volume in the stock jumped by 18 times to 32.75 lakh shares compared with an average volume of 1.83 lakh shares.

Urban Company: Shares of professional services provider rose as much as 5% to hit an intraday high of ₹146 amid spike in trading activity.

Trading volume jumped by 8.2 times to 2.28 crore shares compared with an average volume of 27.93 lakh shares.

As many as 2.04 crore shares changed hands on the BSE compared with an average of 10.29 lakh shares traded daily in the past two weeks.

Lenskart Solutions: Shares of the eyewear retailer climbed as much as 6.95 % to hit a record high of ₹627.35 after its net profit in June quarter surged by 269% to ₹222 crore from ₹60 crore in the same period last year.

The technology eyewear firm’s revenue from core operations advanced 43% YoY to ₹2,714 crore in the period under review, compared with ₹1,894 crore in the first quarter of the 2025-26 fiscal year (Q1 FY26).

At an operational level, its EBITDA (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation), also known as operating profit, stood at ₹589 crore in the June FY27 quarter, marking a 61.37% YoY increase from ₹365 crore in the same period of the previous fiscal year.

Trading volume in the stock surged by 6.8 times to 2.67 crore shares compared with an average volume of 39 lakh shares.
