Shares of Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) were trading in the green on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) on Tuesday, November 18, after its arm, Reliance Retail Ltd (RRL), entered into an exclusive distribution partnership with Germany-based global cosmetics company, cosnova Beauty.

The agreement was signed to bring “essence”, Europe’s “no. 1 cosmetic brand” by units sold to the Indian market, the company said in a media release on Monday.

The pact is set to strengthen RRL’s growing beauty portfolio and will introduce essence’s makeup products to consumers across India, it stated.

Under the pact, RRL, as the official distributor, will launch essence products via its integrated omnichannel ecosystem, “making the essence range of products accessible nationwide across online platforms, beauty stores, and partner retail formats.”

Founded in Germany in 2002, essence has a presence in about 90 countries and manufactures over 80% of its products in Europe.

RRL is a subsidiary of Reliance Retail Ventures Limited (RRVL), the holding company of all the retail companies under the RIL group.

Reliance Retail Q2 results

RRVL reported a 21.9% year-on-year (YoY) increase in its consolidated profit after tax (PAT) at ₹3,457 crore in the second quarter of the 2025-26 fiscal year (Q2FY26).

In the corresponding period a year ago, it had logged a profit of ₹2,836 crore.

The company’s revenue from operations grew 19% YoY to ₹79,128 crore during the quarter under review, compared to ₹66,502 crore in the September quarter of FY25.

At an operational level, Reliance Industries' retail arm's EBITDA stood at ₹6,816 crore for Q2FY26. It clocked a 16.5% YoY increase from ₹5,850 crore in the corresponding quarter of FY25.

Consequently, its EBITDA margin expanded by 20 basis points (bps) YoY to 8.8% during the September quarter of the current fiscal year, compared to 8.6% in the second quarter of FY25.

RIL share performance

Shares of Reliance Industries advanced as much as 0.59% to an intra-day high of ₹1,527.30 apiece on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) on Tuesday.

At around 1:52 pm, the stock was trading 0.47% higher at ₹1,525.60 per equity share.

The scrip has risen above 1% over the last five days and more than 4% over the month. It has surged nearly 6% in the past six months. On a year-to-date basis, it has gained 25%.

RIL has a total market capitalisation of ₹20.66 lakh crore, as of November 18, 2025, according to data on the NSE.
