Shares of RBL Bank slumped 4.47% to an intra-day low of ₹183.45 apiece during the morning trading session on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) on Tuesday, April 22, following a CNBC-TV18 report on a block deal.

The stock of RBL Bank was trading at ₹186.55, down 2.85%, at around 11:41 am, on the NSE.

Sources told CNBC-TV18 that British International Investment, a key investor in the private bank, likely sold a 3.8% stake through a block trade. The investment company held a 3.82% stake in RBL, according to the March shareholding pattern.
As per the report, foreign and domestic institutional investors participated in the block deal, which saw 2.3 crore stocks or 3.9% of RBL Bank’s overall equity changing ownership. However, Mahindra & Mahindra, which recently acquired a 3.8% stake, did not participate in the deal, sources told CNBC-TV18.

Shares of RBL Bank gained 2% over the last week and 7.89% since the beginning of April. The stock surged 18.35% on a year-to-date basis.

The scrip hit a 52-week low of ₹146.10 on January 20, 2025 and a high of ₹272.05 on May 3, 2025.

RBL Bank had a trading volume of 743.81 lakh and a value of ₹1,393.01 crore as of 11:38 am.

The Mumbai-based private bank has a total market capitalisation of ₹11,351.62 crore as of April 22, 2025, on the NSE.
