The court ordered the Delhi-headquartered IT firm to pay the amounts, in addition to the court costs, to a “customer”, Newgen Software said in a regulatory filing.

The filing, however, did not mention the customer involved in the matter.

The court order, dated September 29, was passed over alleged delays in the delivery of a project and deficiencies, the statement added.

Newgen said that it is evaluating various legal remedies available in response to the judgment, including, but not limited to, defending its position through a review petition or appeal to the appropriate court.

“Other than the above financial implications, there is no material impact on the business or operations of the company,” it stated.
