PVR Inox surges 6% after Kalki 2898 AD crosses ₹500-crore box office collection worldwide
Since the release of the movie on Thursday, June 27, PVR Inox shares have been in focus. The stock has rallied 4.73% in the past five sessions on the back of the buzz revolving around the release of the film.
PVR Inox’s stock gained 7.64% in the past one year on the NSE. However the stock slipped 10.32% on a Year-to-Date basis. In the past one month, shares of PVR Inox have witnessed an upward trend gaining nearly 14%.

The film’s performance at the box office has been strong since the day of its release as it earned ₹95.3 crore on its opening day, according to reports. The film has been released in multiple languages and has generated a decent demand for its tickets.
Kalki 2898 AD is set in a dystopian world, the idea of which is inspired by parts of Hindu mythology. The film is directed by Nag Ashwin and has a celebrated star cast of Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Prabhas and Kamal Haasan.
Earlier on June 27, PVR Inox informed the exchanges via a release that it has opened a four screen cinema in Hyderabad with 4K Laser Projection in all auditoriums. The multiplex is located at Prism Mall, Hyderabad. PVR Inox informed the bourses that the multiplex has a seating capacity of 950 audiences.
The company also said that the new theatres will bolster PVR Inox’s presence in Hyderabad increasing its facilities to 97 screens in 17 properties and 110 screens in 20 properties in Telangana. The company also plans to expand its presence in southern states through its 579 screens across 102 properties.
Shares of PVR Inox Ltd were trading at ₹1,499.95 per piece, up by 5.09%, on the NSE at 12:49 pm.
