TVS Motor Company, Punjab National Bank, Paytm, Groww, and Poonawalla Fincorp are among 12 companies in the NIFTY 500 index that have posted net profit growth of over 50% in the first quarter of the current financial year (FY2026-27), data from Ace Equity showed.
Analysts noted that the companies that have reported their quarterly numbers so far have either met or surpassed estimates.
The company's net interest income rose 11% sequentially to ₹1,415 crore, and its assets under management came in at ₹67,054 crore.
The Mumbai-based company's net interest margin was 9.1% compared with 9.05% in the previous quarter.
PNB’s provision for bad loans was increased by 100% to ₹792 crore, from ₹396 crore in the same period a year earlier. While the gross NPAs declined 100 basis points YoY to 2.78% in the first quarter, from 3.78% in the same period a year ago.
During Q1FY27, operating revenue increased 28% year-on-year (YoY) to ₹2,448 crore, while EBITDA rose 182% to a record ₹203 crore, with EBITDA margin expanding to 8%.
Merchant GMV growth accelerated to 31% to ₹7.1 lakh crore, led by investments in product, distribution and service of device merchants and increasing momentum in the online merchant business following receipt of the online Payment Aggregator licence last year.
On a consolidated basis, the company's profit after tax came in at ₹220 crore, up 79% YoY.
Its revenue from operations was up 66% to ₹1,501 crore in the June quarter. It was at ₹904 crore in the corresponding quarter a year ago. Sequentially, it declined 0.26%.
At an operational level, its EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation) stood at ₹971 crore in Q1 FY27, marking a 100.85% surge from ₹483 crore in the June quarter of FY26.
The company reported its highest-ever quarterly revenue of ₹13,896 crore, up 38% from ₹10,081 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal, the earnings release showed.
TVS Motor also posted a record EBITDA of ₹1,779 crore, marking a 41% year-on-year increase from ₹1,260 crore. Its EBITDA margin improved by 30 basis points to 12.8%, compared with 12.5% in the year-ago period.
Anand Rathi Wealth, Angel One, Jaiprakash Power Ventures, Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services, Oberoi Realty and Piramal Finance also reported net profit growth in the range of 67% and 102%.
Meanwhile, BHEL, MRPL and India Cements were three companies that turned profitable on an annual basis in the first quarter, data from Ace Equity showed.
