The jump in Paytm stock comes as analysts from Bernstein shared a positive outlook of the Vijay Shekhar Sharma-led fintech firm.

Analysts at Bernstein in a note on Friday said they expect meaningful operating leverage from Paytm’s existing business. They added that the introduction of merchant discount rate (MDR) on UPI could provide meaningful upside to the company’s profitability. Bernstein also said it sees a clear right to win for Paytm and a long growth runway in merchant lending.

This week, people with knowledge on the matter told Bloomberg that Paytm will start selling artificial intelligence agents to enterprise customers, betting on rising demand for such bots that can automatically handle a variety of workloads and tasks with minimal supervision.

Responding to the report, Paytm in a regulatory filing said, “We wish to clarify that the Company has been investing in and developing artificial intelligence capabilities as part of its ongoing business initiatives, including a possible ‘revenue optimization journey of AI’, as previously disclosed in the earnings release for the Q1 FY27.”

“The media report neither relates to any undisclosed event or information which is material nor requires disclosure by the Company under Regulation 30 read with Schedule III of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015,” it further added.
