Ola Electric Mobility’s board approves ₹2,000 crore investment in wholly-owned subsidiaries; all you need to know

Bhavish-Agarwal-led Ola Electric Mobility, on Friday, May 15, said its board of directors approved a proposal to invest an aggregate of ₹2,000 crore in two of its wholly-owned subsidiaries, Ola Electric Technologies Private Limited (OET) and Ola Cell Technologies Private Limited (OCT).

The EV firm said it will invest ₹1,500 crore in OET, comprising 150 crore compulsory convertible preference shares of ₹10 each, at par.

Ola Electric Mobility will further invest ₹500 crore in OCT, comprising 50 crore compulsory convertible preference shares of ₹10 each, at par.

Investments in both subsidiaries are set to be completed on or before May 14, 2027, the filing stated, adding that with the infusion of funds, the company aims to support its two arms with their business requirements.

Following the acquisition of the two companies' compulsory convertible preference shares, Ola Electric Mobility will continue to maintain 100% control, direct or indirect, in them.

OET is engaged in the business of providing services across the electric vehicles value chain and in the manufacturing and supply of electric vehicles. It was incorporated on January 6, 2021. Its turnover for the 2024-25 financial year (FY25) stood at ₹73 crore.

OCT, incorporated on July 5, 2022, is engaged in the business of manufacturing, processing, assembling, exporting, selling, repairing, and distributing batteries and cells. It recorded a turnover of ₹4,717.48 crore in FY25.

Q4 results schedule

The EV manufacturer’s board of directors is scheduled to meet on Monday, May 18, to consider and approve the audited standalone and consolidated financial results of the Company for the fourth quarter and financial year ended March 31, 2026.

Ola Electric Mobility stock performance

Shares of Ola Electric Mobility closed 1% lower at ₹35.64 per unit on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) on Friday, May 15. The investment announcement came in during the trading session.

The scrip has fallen more than 1% in the past week and 8% over the month. On a year-to-date basis, it has lost 5%.

While the stock hit a 52-week high of ₹71.25 apiece on September 4, 2025, it touched a year’s low of ₹22.25 per equity share on March 16, 2026.
