NCC shares gain 3% as company bags around ₹7,000 crore work order; check project details and other updates

NCC share price: Shares of NCC Ltd were trading around 3% higher at ₹215.80 apiece in the early trade on Monday, October 27, as the company on Saturday said it has bagged a ₹6,828.94 crore order from Coal India arm Central Coalfields to extract and transport coal and overburden from one of the mining projects in Jharkhand.

In a regulatory filing, the company said it has received a letter of acceptance dated October 24 from Central Coalfields Ltd (CCL) regarding this.

The extraction and transportation of overburden and coal will have to be done from the Amrapali open-cast project of CCL in the Chandragupt area of Jharkhand, NCC said in the regulatory filing.

NCC will hire Heavy Earth Moving Machinery (HEMM) for the removal of 413.59 M CuM of OB (overburden), extraction of 233.325 MT of coal and transportation to Shivpur siding and surface stockyard under different lead slabs and wagon loading of 139.995 MT of coal at Shivpur siding at Amrapali OCP, Chandragupt Area, the filing said.

For the June 2025 quarter (Q1 FY26), NCC reported a consolidated net profit of ₹192.1 crore, down 8.4% year-on-year (YoY) from the ₹209.9 crore posted in the year-ago period.

The company’s revenue from operations declined by 6.3% YoY to ₹5,178.9 crore against ₹5,527.9 crore in Q1 FY25. Its total income fell by 6% YoY to ₹5,207.9 crore in Q1 FY26 from ₹5,558.3 crore in the same period last year.

“NCC Limited [NCCL] has reported a turnover of ₹5,207.93 Crore (including other income) on a consolidated basis in the first quarter of financial year 2025-26 as against ₹5,558.33 Crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year, a decrease of 6% on a year-on-year basis,” the company said in a release on Tuesday.

The construction firm’s earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) also fell by 4.3% to ₹456.12 crore during the June quarter as compared to ₹477.9 crore in the same quarter of the previous year. EBITDA margin increased marginally to 8.8% in Q1 FY26 from 8.6% in Q1 FY25.

NCC reported a basic and diluted earnings per share (EPS) of ₹3.03 for the April-June quarter, as compared to ₹3.20 in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year.
