In a statement on Monday, as reported by PTI, the company said it has signed an agreement with the Nagpur Metropolitan Region Development Authority (NMRDA) to build a 1,710-acre township project, the Naveen Nagpur Project.
The company signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on September 8, 2025.
NBCC has been appointed as the Executing and Implementing Agency as well as the Project Management Consultant (PMC).
"The first phase of the project is valued at an estimated ₹2,966 crore and marks the beginning of one of the largest planned urban development initiatives in the region," NBCC said.
NBCC India Limited is a public sector company engaged in construction and real estate development, mainly for government projects. Founded in November 1960, the public sector undertaking is a key player in EPC (engineering, procurement and construction).
NBCC went public in 2012, and it was granted Navratna status on June 23, 2014, the 15th PSU to get this recognition.
Earlier known as the National Buildings Construction Corporation, the company operates in the construction of government buildings, housing projects and office spaces.
The company has received numerous awards for its achievements, and it is one of the PSUs to consistently receive an ‘Excellent’ rating since 2004.
The New Delhi-headquartered company manages its India and global operations through various divisions like project management group, business development, real estate, vigilance, contract engineering, law, centralised procurement group (CPG) and finance, among others.
The work of the corporation is further divided into several Regional Business Groups (RBGs), Strategic Business Groups (SBGs), Zones, Units and Sites.
NBCC reported a 25% increase in consolidated net profit to ₹156.68 crore in the September quarter on higher income.
Its net profit stood at ₹125.13 crore in the year-ago period.
The Navratna company witnessed a 19% annual growth in its revenue from operations to ₹2,910.20 crore during the quarter under review, as against ₹2,445.73 crore in the September quarter of the 2024-25 fiscal year (Q2FY25).
The PSU’s revenue from its project management consultant (PMC) segment stood at ₹2,835.94 crore for the second quarter of FY26, reflecting a 30.22% YoY increase from ₹2,177.78 crore in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.
The engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) business contributed ₹67.4 crore, marking a 67.84% annual slump from ₹209.60 crore in Q2FY25.
Its real estate segment’s revenue declined by 91.88% YoY to ₹4.66 crore, from ₹57.42 crore.
