JSW Steel shares in spotlight as crude steel production climbs 4% YoY to 24 lakh tonnes in July; check key numbers

JSW Steel share price: Shares of JSW Steel, the country's largest steel maker, are expected to be in the spotlight on Tuesday, August 11, as the company reports its business update for the month of July.

The company reported a 3% year-on-year (YoY) surge in its consolidated crude steel production to 24.02 lakh tonnes in July 2026, compared with 23.37 lakh tonnes in the same period last year, according to a regulatory filing dated August 10.

Its crude steel production from Indian operations stood at 23.39 lakh tonnes during the month under review, reflecting a 4% YoY growth from 22.55 lakh tonnes in July 2025.

However, its crude steel production from JSW Steel USA – Ohio declined 13% YoY to 0.63 lakh tonnes in July, as against 0.72 lakh tonnes in the year-ago period.

The steel business undertaking of Bhushan Power and Steel Limited (BPSL), a subsidiary of the company, was transferred on a slump-sale basis to JSW-JFE Steel Limited (JV company) in March 2026. Thus, the production figures relating to the transferred undertaking were reduced from the previous year’s numbers for comparison, the firm noted.

JSW Steel’s capacity utilisation for Indian operations for the month was at 87%.

Furthermore, the company added that blast furnace 3 (BF3) at Vijayanagar Works has been ramping up following its restart from June 23, 2026 onwards and has been operating at above 80% of its rated capacity.

The company saw its net profit more than double to ₹4,651 crore in the April-June period of the 2026-27 financial year (Q1 FY27), compared with ₹2,184 crore in the same period last year. READ MORE.

The Mumbai-based company's total revenue from operations advanced 10% to ₹47,364 crore in the first quarter of the current financial year from ₹43,147 crore in the year-ago period.

JSW Steel reported strong operational performance as its earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) came in at ₹9,383 crore at the end of the June quarter, up 24% from ₹7,576 crore in the corresponding period last financial year.

Its EBITDA margin improved by 230 basis points to 19.81%.

Shares of JSW Steel closed 0.19% higher at ₹1,302 per unit on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) on Monday, August 10. However, the development was reported after the markets closed.

The scrip has advanced 1% in the past week and more than 4% over the month. On a year-to-date (YTD) basis, it has climbed 11%.

While the stock hit a 52-week high of ₹1,335 per equity share on August 6, 2026, it touched a year’s low of ₹1,022.30 apiece on August 29, 2925.
