JSW Energy, on Wednesday, June 25, signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) through its step-down subsidiary with NHPC Ltd to supply power to a 300 megawatt (MW) solar-wind hybrid capacity project.

JSW Energy’s step-down subsidiary, Energizent Power Private Limited, was awarded the PPA. It involves supplying power for a period of 25 years with a tariff of ₹3.49/KWh to the Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS)-connected 300 MW solar-wind hybrid capacity project in Rajasthan and Andhra Pradesh.

Furthermore, the project is expected to be commissioned in the next 24 months, JSW Energy stated in a regulatory filing.

JSW Energy’s total locked-in generation capacity stands at 29.9 GW and includes 12.5 GW operational, 12.8 GW under construction across wind, thermal and hydro, along with a pipeline capacity of 4.6 GW, the statement further said.

The energy company also has 29.3 GWh of locked-in energy storage capacity through hydro pumped storage projects of 26.4 GWh and a battery energy storage system of 2.9 GWh.

Furthermore, JSW Energy aims to reach 30 GW of generation capacity and 40 GWh of energy capacity by FY30. It also plans to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, the company said.

Shares of JSW Energy closed in the green at ₹507.05 apiece, up 0.43% on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) on Wednesday. However, the announcement was made after the market closed.

The stock has gained 1.68% over the week and 4.05% since the beginning of June. The scrip has lost 5.61% so far in the first quarter of FY26 and 21% on a year-to-date basis.

It reached a 52-week low of ₹418.75 per equity share on February 17, 2025, and a high of ₹804.90 on September 24, 2024.

It has a total market capitalisation of ₹88,620.60 crore, as of June 25, 2025, as per the data on the NSE.

JSW Energy, a part of the JSW Group, operates in infrastructure, steel, energy, cement, sports and other sectors.
