The stock surged a day after the hospitality company reported robust earnings for the July-September quarter of the 2026-27 financial year (Q2 FY27), posting a 22.7% year-on-year (YoY) surge in its consolidated net profit to ₹349.49 crore, as against ₹284.92 crore in the same period last year.
The company saw its consolidated revenue from operations climb 21.73% YoY to ₹2,484.32 crore during the quarter under review, from ₹2,040.89 crore in the second quarter of the 2025-26 fiscal year (Q2 FY26).
At an operational level, its EBITDA (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation), also known as operating profit, stood at ₹788 crore in Q2 FY27, reflecting a 21% YoY increase from ₹653 crore in the year-ago period.
The EBITDA margin contracted 10 basis points (bps) YoY to 30.7% for the reporting quarter, down from 30.8% in the September quarter of FY26.
IHCL also upgraded its consolidated revenue guidance for FY27 by 300 bps to 15-17% from 12-14% earlier.
The upgrade in the revenue guidance was led by a 17-19% hotel segment revenue, with seasonally strong upcoming quarters, high demand from social and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) events, and strong non-like-for-like growth, said Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director & CEO, IHCL.
During the quarter, IHCL recorded a 22% YoY growth in its room revenue, which stood at ₹1,115 crore. The food and beverages (F&B) segment grew 20% YoY to ₹686 crore, and revenue from management fees rose 25% YoY to ₹156 crore.
The company witnessed strong growth in its revenue per available room (RevPAR) across all its brands, led by Taj. The Taj brand’s RevPAR surged 28% YoY to ₹14,500, followed by IHCL’s domestic hotel brands, whose RevPAR rose 25% YoY to ₹8,220.
Its upper upscale brands saw their RevPAR advance by 21% YoY to ₹7,600, while its select services business, including Ginger Hotels and Tree of Life, clocked a RevPAR of ₹2,850, up 14% YoY.
“The revenue drivers were a rise of 25% in RevPAR from domestic same-store hotels, a 25% increase in management fee income led by new openings momentum, 25% revenue growth in Select Service Business and the contribution from our recent acquisitions of Brij and Atmantan,” said Chhatwal.
IHCL signed 47 hotels in the first half of FY27, reaching a portfolio of 670 hotels with a pipeline of 280 hotels totaling more than 32,000 rooms.
“With 47 signings in the first half across the brandscape, IHCL today has a portfolio of 670 hotels and is set to achieve its guidance under Accelerate 2030 of a 700-hotel portfolio well ahead of time. Building on its first-half performance,” Chhatwal added.
The analysts added that IHCL is likely to provide detailed long-term guidance for hotel additions in November, and the company’s earlier guidance of 700 portfolio hotels by FY30 will be completed well ahead of schedule.
