Easy Trip Planners Limited shares closed higher on Monday, July 1, ending an 8-day losing streak. The owner of the online travel platform Easemytrip announced signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Uttar Pradesh Eco Tourism Development Board.

Shares of Easy Trip Planners rallied as much as 2.11% on the NSE to hit an intraday high of ₹42.07 apiece on the NSE. However, the stock pared some of the gains to close 0.7% higher at ₹41.49 apiece.

In a stock exchange filing, the online travel services provider announced that it has entered into an MoU with the Uttar Pradesh EcoTourism Development Board (UPETDB), a government body responsible for overseeing promotional and tourism initiatives in the northern state.

The MoU aims to establish a strategic partnership to enhance the promotion and development of tourism in Uttar Pradesh. According to the exchange filing, EaseMyTrip’s broad reach and technological expertise will be harnessed to showcase Uttar Pradesh’s diverse eco-tourism attractions.

In this collaboration, EaseMyTrip will actively feature all registered homestays in Uttar Pradesh on its online platform. The company will also launch a dedicated promotional campaign to highlight homestays as a unique and preferred lodging option for those visiting the state. Moreover, EaseMyTrip plans to develop educational materials focusing on bird sanctuaries, drawing insights from successful case studies like Okhla Bird Sanctuary and Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary.

These educational products will be distributed in schools, colleges and other institutions through tour guides. These guides, officially registered under UPETDB, will undergo training programs designed by EaseMyTrip.

Additionally, EaseMyTrip will design and promote unique travel packages that showcase Uttar Pradesh’s undiscovered destinations, gastronomic delights, cultural experiences and traditional crafts. The state’s tiger reserves, including Dudhwa, Pilibhit, Amangarh and Ranipur Tiger Reserve, will be highlighted in these packages, which will include homestays as a crucial component of the overall tourism experience. On the other hand, UPETDB will actively assist in promoting EaseMyTrip’s microsites across various social media platforms.
