Coal India to BPCL: 10 PSU companies to pay dividends to shareholders soon

Several prominent PSU companies have announced dividends along with their second-quarter earnings. Coal India, Mazagon Dock, NTPC, BPCL and among the list of stocks approaching their dividend record date soon.

Government-owned companies are on the investors' radar for their consistent and attractive dividend payouts. However, besides regular dividends, certain PSU stocks have also delivered substantial returns to shareholders. Shares of Garden Reach Shipbuilders, Mazagon Dock, BPCL, and HPCL have risen between 18% and 58% so far this year.

Coal India (Market cap: ₹2.39 lakh crore)

PSU company, Coal India, has announced an interim dividend of ₹10.25 per equity share of ₹10 face value along with its second quarter earnings. India’s largest coal-producing company posted subdued quarterly earnings as its consolidated net profit declined 32% YoY to ₹4,263 crore during the September quarter amid lower sales and higher expenses. Revenue for the quarter declined by 3.2% YoY to ₹30,187 crore, while EBITDA decreased by 22% YoY to ₹6,716 crore. The PSU company posted a 3.9% year-on-year decline in production to 48.97 million tonnes (MT) in September.

Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders (Market cap: ₹1.10 lakh crore)

Defence PSU Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders declared the first interim dividend of ₹6 per share for FY26. The record date for dividend payment is November 4, 2025. The company registered a 28.1% YoY rise in consolidated net profit to ₹749.48 crore. The company’s revenue from operations grew by 6.3% YoY to ₹2,929 crore, while total order book stood at ₹27,415 crore as of 30 September 2025. So far this year, Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders' shares have gained over 22%.

Railtel Corporation (Market cap: ₹11,870 crore)

Navratna PSU, Railtel Corporation of India, announced a dividend of ₹1 per share. The record date is November 4, 2025. The company reported a 4.7% increase in its second-quarter net profit to ₹76 crore, while its revenue rose 12.8% to ₹951.3 crore from ₹843.5 crore last year.

PSU oil marketing firms pay bumper dividends

State-owned oil marketing companies Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (HPCL) have announced a dividend of ₹7.5 per share and ₹5 per share for their shareholders. The record date for the HPCL dividend is November 6, while the BPCL dividend has a record date of November 7, 2025.

BPCL, a maharatna PSU, posted a sharp jump of 169% YoY in standalone net profit to ₹6,442 crore, while its revenue from operations in Q2FY26 increased 3.1% YoY to ₹1.21 lakh crore. So far this year, BPCL shares have delivered over 25% return to its shareholders.

HPCL's net profit saw a 506% YoY rise to ₹3,830 crore, but declined 12.3% compared to the previous quarter. Meanwhile, revenue remained flat at ₹100,781 crore. A substantial rise in profitability came on the back of an improvement in gross refining margin (GRM) to $8.80 per barrel during the quarter, as compared to $3.12 reported last year.
