BHEL pays ₹110 crore final dividend to government; stock gains over 21% YTD

State-owned engineering firm Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) on Monday, December 5, said it has paid a final dividend of ₹109.98 crore for 2024-25 to the Government of India.

A cheque towards the final dividend on the equity (63.17%) held by the Government of India was presented to H D Kumaraswamy, Union Minister of Heavy Industries and Steel, by K Sadashiv Murthy, Chairman and Managing Director, BHEL, in the presence of Kamran Rizvi, Secretary (HI), a company statement said.

Directors on the board of BHEL and senior officials of the Ministry of Heavy Industries were also present on the occasion.

The total dividend paid to the company's shareholders for 2024-25 amounts to ₹174.10 crore.

The dividend payout for the financial year 2024-25 is a 100% increase over the payout for the year 2023-24, Ministry of Heavy Industries said in a press release.

Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel exhorted BHEL to play a pivotal role in the making of Viksit Bharat through major Government of India initiatives, the PIB release stated.

As a leading heavy engineering and manufacturing company, he also advised BHEL to advance the vision of ‘Aatma Nirbhar Bharat’ and ‘Make in India’, it added.

BHEL share performance

BHEL stock closed 0.96% lower at ₹282.40 per equity share on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) on Monday.

The share has advanced nearly 5% in the past week and about 0.3% over the month. On a year-to-date basis, it has gained more than 21%.

While the scrip reached a 52-week high of ₹295.25 on December 1, 2025, it touched a year’s low of ₹176 per equity share on March 3, 2025.

Q2 results

The firm’s consolidated net profit zoomed 254% annually to ₹375 crore for the September quarter of FY26, compared to ₹106 crore in the same period of the previous fiscal year.

During the quarter under revie, its revenue from operations surged 14% year-on-year (YoY) to ₹7,512 crore, as against ₹6,584 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year.

BHEL has a total market capitalisation of ₹98,333.47 crore, as of December 15, 2025, according to data on the NSE.
