Axis Bank Ltd shares plunged as much as 6.1% on Friday to hit a fresh 52-week low of ₹974.6 apiece on the NSE following its weak Q3 results. Shares of Bajaj Electricals Ltd fell 1.7% to hit their 52-week low levels at ₹719.1 per piece on the NSE, extending losses for the third straight day.

As many as 33 stocks hit their lowest levels in 52 weeks on Friday, January 17, on the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) amid the broader markets trading in the negative zone.
As of 12:50 pm, the benchmark NIFTY 50 index was trading at 23,218.8, down 93 points, or 0.4%. Meanwhile, the BSE SENSEX was trading lower by 335 points, or 0.4%, to 76,708.
The volatility index, or India VIX, surged 5.8% to 16.37. The NIFTY Bank and the NIFTY IT were the biggest losers among the sectoral indices, down over 2% each. The NIFTY Realty index was the biggest mover with gains of 1.5%.

Axis Bank on Thursday posted weak earnings for the quarter ended December 2024. The leading private lender’s growth in advances and deposits for the quarter was the slowest in the last 15 quarters. The bank reported a 3.8% year-on-year increase in net profit at ₹6,304 crore, while the net interest income (NII) rose 9% to ₹13,606 crore. Bad loans increased, too, with the gross non-performing asset (NPA) ratio reaching 1.46%, slightly higher than 1.44% in the previous quarter.
Earlier this month, Bajaj Electricals was in the news after the company decided not to contest the tax demand and penalty by the Commissioner of Taxes, Government of Gujarat, dated August 2, 2024, on grounds that the demand and penalty was nominal.
Relaxo Footwears Ltd., India’s largest footwear manufacturer, recently announced its active presence at the grand Mahakumbh Mela 2025 in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. The company has set up stalls and kiosks across the mela grounds to sell its footwear products across brands like Bahamas, Flite and Sparx to the visitors.
