Shares of Authum Investment and Infrastructure soared over 10% during the opening trade on Monday, March 3. Last week, Pratap Snacks Limited (PSL) became an associate company of Authum Investment after the latter acquired a 42.33% stake in the snack’s maker.

The acquisition was executed through a combination of open market purchases and a share purchase agreement (SPA), as disclosed in the exchange filings.

As much as 127 equity shares of PSL were acquired by way of open offer at a price per equity share of ₹865.66, aggregating to ₹1,09,939, and 1,02,48,582 equity shares of PSL were acquired under the special purchase agreement (SPA) at a price per equity share of ₹746, aggregating to ₹764.5 crore.

At the time of close, shares of Authum settled at ₹1,558 apiece, soaring 10.53% on the National Stock Exchange. The scrip had touched its 52-week high of ₹1,988 on January 6, 2025. In the last year, Authum shares have surged 68.54%, while year-to-date, the company is down 17.2%.

“We hereby inform you that as of February 25, 2025, the company has acquired 1,02,48,709 equity shares of PSL (i.e., 127 equity shares of PSL acquired by way of open offer and 1,02,48,582 equity shares of PSL acquired under the SPA), representing 42.33% of the voting share capital of PSL,” Authum had said in an exchange filing on February 26, 2025.

“This acquisition aligns with our long-term strategy of diversifying our portfolio while investing in sectors that demonstrate both stability and growth potential. Our intention is to nurture and expand this business, maximising value creation for all stakeholders and ensuring a sustainable, profitable future for the company,” the filing further said.

During the December quarter, Authum Investment’s consolidated revenue declined 10.8% to ₹616.94 crore as compared to ₹691.39 crore in the corresponding quarter last fiscal year.

For Q3FY25, its consolidated net profit also fell 10% to ₹539.41 crore as against ₹601.36 crore in Q3FY24.
