As many as 199 stocks hit their 52-week low levels on the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) on Tuesday, March 18, even as the broader markets traded in the green with significant gains.
The NIFTY 50 index was trading 270.55 points, or 1.2%, higher at 22,769.8, at around 2:15 pm. The SENSEX also gained 973 points, or 1.31%, to 75,143. India’s volatility index, or India VIX, slipped 1.27% to 13.25.
All the sectoral indices were trading in the green, with the NIFTY Media and NIFTY Consumer Durables emerging as top gainers by rallying 2.2% each.
Earlier this month, AU Small Finance Bank Ltd announced that its board has approved the issuance of unsecured, rated, listed, redeemable, subordinated, non-convertible Lower Tier II Bonds, categorised as Tier II capital, for up to ₹1,500 crore. The bond issuance falls within the overall ₹6,000-crore limit approved by shareholders at the annual general meeting held in July 2024.
The stock has lost almost 21% in the past onth after India's largest cement company, UltraTech Cement, announced a foray into the wires and cables segment.
Rolex Rings manufactures automotive components, focusing on forged and machined rings. The company has announced that a representative from Kotak Mahindra Mutual Fund will visit its plant in Rajkot, Gujarat, on March 18. This could potentially impact the company’s market perception and investor relations.
The stock has been under pressure after the company reported in February that its profit after tax (PAT) for the December 2024 quarter saw a sharp decline of 97% year-on-year to ₹3.8 crore.
