Ashoka Buildcon shares rally 15% on bagging order from RVNL; check details

Ashoka Buildcon shares rallied 15% to touch an intraday high of ₹129 apiece on Monday, August 31, as investors gained confidence in the firm bagging an order from Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL).

Worth ₹602.16 crore, Ashoka Buildcon said it had submitted a bid for a project and finally received a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) for the same.

The project involves the supply, erection, testing and commissioning of electromechanical (E&M) systems for T-13, T-14, T-15 and T-16 tunnels under Package E-4 of the Rishikesh-Karnprayag New BG Rail Line Project in Uttarakhand. The scope also includes 33/11kV and 11/0.433kV GIS substations, HT and LT cables, DG sets, lighting, UPS, ventilation and fire-fighting systems, along with other associated works.

Further, the project was awarded under a percentage rate bidding process. Ashoka Buildcon said it will be required to submit a performance bank guarantee of ₹25.51 crore to RVNL, while the contract carries a defect liability period of two years.

The project is expected to be completed within 30 months from the date of commencement.

Ashoka Buildcon Q1 FY27 earnings

Ashoka Buildcon’s consolidated net profit had dropped 41% to ₹128 crore in the first quarter for the financial year 2026-27 (Q1 FY27), as compared to ₹217 crore reported in the same period of the previous fiscal year.

The company's revenue from operations had decreased 21% on a year-on-year (YoY) basis to ₹1,500 crore in the April to June quarter as against ₹1,887 crore seen in Q1 FY26.

Its operating profit, also known as earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA), declined 57% to ₹258 crore as against ₹598 crore in the corresponding period last year.

Its EBITDA margin contracted to 17.18% in contrast to 31.69% in the year-ago period.

The company’s consolidated debt by the end of the quarter was seen at ₹2,773 crore. By the end of June 30, 2026, Ashoka Buildcon’s total order book stood at ₹15,251 crore.

Ashoka Buildcon share price trends

At 12:40 PM, Ashoka Buildcon shares were trading at ₹126.09 apiece on the National Stock Exchange, jumping 11.93%.

From the beginning of the year, Ashoka Buildcon shares have fallen 27%. Over a month’s time, the stock has gained 2%, while for a six-month period, it has slipped 4%.

Shares of the firm had hit a 52-week high of ₹214.50 on November 4, 2025, and a 52-week low of ₹101 on March 30, 2026.

According to NSE data, as of August 31, 2026, Ashoka Buildcon has a total market capitalisation of ₹3,450.65 crore.
