On March 10, the company announced that it had received a letter of acceptance (LoA) worth ₹311.92 crore from MSETCL for the establishment of a substation in Nandgaon Peth, Amravati, Maharashtra.
The order entails supply, ETC, and the civil portion in connection with a turnkey works contract for the establishment of a 400/220 KV substation at Nandgaon Peth, Amravati, Maharashtra.
The bid project cost stood at ₹311.92 crore, and it is expected to be completed in 18 months.
Ashoka Buildcon is engaged in the construction and maintenance of roads and supporting services to land support and operation of toll roads.
Ashoka Buildcon Ltd, according to a report by CNBC TV-18, reported a strong rise in profitability for Q3 FY25, with profit before tax (PAT) surging 62.4% year-on-year (YoY) to ₹306.7 crore, despite a drop in revenue.
The profit growth was driven by improved operational efficiencies and higher margins.
Its revenue for the quarter stood at ₹2,387.9 crore, reflecting a 10.1% decline from ₹2,657.1 crore logged in the same period last year. However, EBITDA rose 7% YoY to ₹638 crore, up from ₹597 crore, indicating improved cost management.
Margin saw a significant expansion to 26.8%, compared to 22.5% in Q3 FY24, highlighting better execution and project efficiencies, the report added.
In December 2024, Ashoka Buildcon said it plans to invest ₹9,000 crore in setting up a green hydrogen plant in Bihar.
The company signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the state government, committing to investing in the plant, during the Bihar Business Connect 2024.
The Maharashtra-based firm is in highway construction, power distribution, and solar projects.
The company's COO-Renewable Energy, Mayank Sharma, said Ashoka Buildcon will set up a 1,250 MW solar project and use the clean electricity to produce green hydrogen by splitting water.
"The first phase of the plant is being planned at Begusarai (in Bihar)," he said.
