Patel Retail share price: Shares of retail supermarket chain Patel Retail made a robust debut on the stock exchanges on Tuesday, August 26.

The stock started trading at ₹300 apiece on the National Stock Exchange (NSE), reflecting a premium of 17.65% over the issue price of ₹255 per share.

It listed at ₹305 per unit on the BSE, a premium of 19.61%.

The application size consisted of one lot or 58 shares. Investors who received the Patel Retail IPO allotment made ₹17,400 per lot.

The IPO aimed to raise ₹242.76 crore via the issuance of 85.18 lakh new equity shares aggregating to ₹217.21 crore and an offer for sale (OFS) of ₹25.55 crore by promoters Dhanji Raghavji Patel and Bechar Raghavji Patel. The price range was set between ₹237 to ₹255 apiece.

The funds are intended to be used for debt clearance, general corporate purposes and working capital needs.

The initial public offering was subscribed a whopping 95.70 times, with bids for 74,79,89,460 shares as against 78,15,612 shares on offer.

The portion for qualified institutional buyers (QIBs) mobilised a huge 272.43 times subscription. The non-institutional investors' quota received 108.17 times subscription, while the category for retail individual investors (RIIs) got subscribed 42.49 times.

Before the IPO, the company collected ₹43.46 crore from anchor investors, including Chanakya Opportunities Fund, Maybank Securities, Beacon Stone Capital, BNP Paribas Financial Markets, Saint Capital Fund and Pine Oak Global Fund.

Patel Retail, which was established in 2008, launched its inaugural store in Ambernath, Maharashtra. It has now expanded its operations throughout the suburban areas of Thane and Raigad districts.
