Hindustan Aeronautics Q1 results: HAL profit rises 15% YoY to ₹1,581 crore, revenue climbs 14%; check key numbers

Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd’s (HAL) board of directors announced the April to June quarter results for the financial year 2026-27 on Wednesday, August 12, where the defence equipment maker recorded a 15% year-on-year (YoY) surge in overall profits with key support from revenue gains in the period.

NSE filings showed that HAL posted an around 15% YoY rise in its standalone net profits to ₹1,581 crore in the first quarter of FY27, in comparison to ₹1,377 crore in the same period a year earlier.

However, on a sequential basis, the profits declined 62% to its June quarter levels, from ₹4,184 crore in the same period a year earlier, as per the standalone statements.

The company’s revenue from core operations advanced 14.4% to ₹5,515 crore in the June quarter, compared with ₹4,819 crore in the same period a year earlier, according to exchange filings.

HAL’s raw material cost also declined 12% to ₹2,780 crore in the first quarter of FY27, in comparison to ₹3,162 crore in the same period a year earlier.

HAL’s operational-level earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) increased 19% YoY to ₹1,527 crore in the period under review, compared to ₹1,284 crore in the same period a year earlier.

The filings also showed that the company’s EBITDA margins expanded 103 basis points to 27.67% in the June quarter, from 26.64% in the same period a year earlier.

HAL hits 52-week high

After the Q1 update, HAL shares surged around 3% to touch the intraday and 52-week high of ₹5,055 apiece during Wednesday’s market, in comparison to ₹4,909 apiece at the previous stock market close, as per NSE data.

While the company’s 52-week low was at ₹3,479.10 apiece on March 30, 2026, as per the exchange data.

Hindustan Aeronautics shares have delivered more than 804% returns to investors in the last five years, over 163% gains in the last three years, and more than 13% returns on their investments in the last one-year period.

On a YTD basis, the company’s stock has risen 13% in 2026 and has gained 10% in the last one-month period. The NSE data also showed that HAL shares were trading 7.5% higher in the last five market sessions.

The company’s market capitalisation (m-cap) was at over ₹3.33 lakh crore as of the trading session on Wednesday, August 12, 2026.
