Shares of GAIL ended 1.97% down at ₹179.9 apiece on the NSE on Monday, July 28.

GAIL (India) on Monday, July 28, reported a net profit of ₹2,382 crore for the first quarter of the current fiscal year (Q1 FY26), down 25% from ₹3,183 crore posted in the year-ago period.

The company's revenue was slightly up by 2% at ₹35,429 crore during the reporting quarter, as against ₹34,822 crore in Q1 FY25.

Its earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) was at ₹3,669 crore in the June quarter, down 23.4% as compared to ₹4,790 crore. Margin stood at 10.4% in Q1 FY26 against 14% a year ago.

The company incurred a capital expenditure of approximately ₹3,176 crore during the reporting quarter, mainly on Pipelines, Petrochemicals, Equity contribution to JVs, etc, said GAIL's Chairman & Managing Director Shri Sandeep Kumar Gupta.

He also said that GAIL has received PNGRB’s authorization for capacity expansion of its Jamnagar-Loni LPG pipeline from 3.25 MMTPA to 6.5 MMTPA, with an estimated capex of ~₹5,000 crore. The company is expected to finish it in three years. This project will cut down on CO₂ emissions significantly & reduce road mishaps and leaks, the company said in its release on Monday.

"GAIL (India) Limited has also been included in the prestigious FTSE4Good Index series for the 7th consecutive year, underlining GAIL’s Sustainability efforts and strong Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) performance," the release added.

Share price details

After opening at ₹183.51 per share, GAIL (India) stock ended 1.97% down at ₹179.9 apiece on the NSE on Monday, July 28. The stock touched an intraday high of ₹185.62 apiece during the session. The company's market capitalisation stands at ₹1,18,286.04 crore.

Over the last five days, the scrip has declined by 2.36%, while it has fallen by 5.73% in the last one month.

In the last six months, the stock has soared by 8.29%. Year-to-date, however, the stock has fallen 5.86%.

The stock hit its 52-week high of ₹246.30 apiece on July 31, 2024, and its 52-week low of ₹150.52 per share on March 4, 2025.
