Aditya Birla Sunlife AMC shares drop over 4% after the company announced its Q1FY27 earnings in the afternoon session. The shares traded at ₹1,071 apiece on the NSE at 1:50 pm.

Asset management companies are in focus amid the listing of SBI Funds Management. The country’s largest asset management company listed with a 6% premium over its issue price on Tuesday at ₹613 apiece on the NSE.

Aditya Birla Sunlife AMC posted steady growth in earnings across the board. The company’s Q1FY27 revenue stood at ₹455 crore as compared to ₹441 crore in the same period last year. However, on a sequential basis, the revenue remained largely unchanged at ₹455 crore, which soured shareholder sentiments.

On a consolidated basis, the revenue stood at ₹462 crore as compared to ₹447 crore in the same period last year and ₹458 crore in the previous quarter.

At the operational level, the total EBITDA for the quarter jumped 10% YoY to ₹421 crore as compared to ₹383 crore, partly ballooned by other income of ₹162 crore in the quarter ended June 2026. However, EBITDA margin contracted during the quarter at 68.1% as compared to 68.5% in the same period last year.

Despite the muted growth sequentially, the company’s standalone net profit jumped 12% YoY and 62% QoQ at ₹311 crore as compared to ₹276 crore in Q1FY26 and ₹191 crore in Q4FY26.

The company’s quarterly average asset under management for mutual funds grew 6% YoY to ₹4.2 lakh crore as compared to ₹4.0 lakh crore. Similarly, company’s alternative asset segment is also growing strongly at 579% YoY at ₹1.9 lakh crore in PMS/AIFs. The passive fund AUM also increased 2x to ₹12,300 crore in Q1FY27 as compared to ₹5,300 crore in Q1FY24
