Adani Total Gas shares closed 1.75% higher at ₹700.40 after Tuesday’s market session, compared to ₹712.90 at the previous stock market close, according to NSE data. The company announced its Q1 earnings near the end of the market operating hours on July 21.

NSE filings suggest that Adani Total Gas’ consolidated net profits declined 14% to ₹141.72 crore in the April to June quarter of the financial year ending 2026-27, compared year-on-year with ₹165.25 crore in the same period a year earlier.

The company’s profits declined due to higher natural gas prices in the global market, which in turn increased the input cost for Adani Total Gas in the period under review.

“Q1 FY27 witnessed the impact of the West Asia crisis, with elevated crude prices driving higher Brent-linked gas costs across New Well Gas, RLNG (Regasified Liquefied Natural Gas), and spot LNG,” the company said in its official statement.

In contrast, the company’s revenue from core operations advanced 27% to ₹1,906.79 crore in the first quarter of the current fiscal year, compared YoY with ₹1,498.32 crore in the same period a year earlier.

Higher input costs

As per the NSE filings, Adani Total Gas’ cost of acquiring natural gas increased 40% year-on-year (YoY) to ₹1,302.51 crore in the April to June quarter of the fiscal year ending 2026-27, compared with ₹928.37 crore in the same period a year earlier.

The consolidated financial statements also showed that the company’s total expenses for the quarter under review increased 35% to ₹1,742 crore, from ₹1,288 crore in the same period a year earlier.

Along with the rise in gas prices, the company also attributed the profit drop to the increase in APM gas price ceiling coupled with the Indian rupee weakness in the June quarter, which increase the overall procurement cost for the firm.
