GST collections rise 13.9% to ₹1.95 lakh crore in June; import revenue jumps 35%

During the April-June quarter, gross GST collections rose 8.4% to ₹6.32 lakh crore and net collections increased 7.1% to ₹5.40 lakh crore.

Goods and Services Tax (GST) collections rose 13.9% year-on-year to ₹1.95 lakh crore in June, government data showed on Wednesday.

Gross GST revenue stood at ₹1,94,812 crore in June, up from ₹1,71,105 crore in the same month last year.

Domestic GST collections increased 6.5% to ₹1,34,774 crore from ₹1,26,506 crore a year ago.

On the other hand, GST revenue from imports jumped 34.6% to ₹60,038 crore from ₹44,600 crore.

The government issued GST refunds worth ₹32,436 crore during the month, 29.1% higher than the year-ago period.

After adjusting for refunds, net GST revenue rose 11.2% to ₹1,62,377 crore in June from ₹1,45,984 crore a year earlier.

In the first quarter of the current financial year, gross GST collections rose 8.4% to ₹6.32 lakh crore from ₹5.83 lakh crore in the corresponding period of 2025-26.

Net GST revenue during April-June increased 7.1% to ₹5.40 lakh crore.

State-wise GST collections

State-wise data showed that Uttar Pradesh posted the strongest growth among major states in June. Its domestic GST collections rose 19% to ₹9,165 crore.

Assam followed with a 17% increase, while Punjab recorded 14% growth. Gujarat's collections grew 12%.

Karnataka, Kerala, Goa and Telangana registered growth of around 10-11% each.

Maharashtra remained the biggest contributor to GST collections. The state's revenue increased 9% to ₹30,714 crore during the month.

Delhi's collections rose 8% to ₹5,987 crore, while Haryana recorded a 9% increase to ₹10,065 crore.

Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh saw a 5% decline each.

Tamil Nadu's collections fell 2%, while Jharkhand recorded a 16% drop.

Uttarakhand's collections declined 21% and Himachal Pradesh reported a 26% fall.
