Hanuman Jayanti 2024 holiday: Are banks open on April 23?

Bank holiday: Several customers of the State Bank of India (SBI), Punjab National Bank and other lenders are inquiring about the holiday of Hanuman Jayanti. The festival has not been marked as a gazetted holiday by the Government of India, and it is not included in the holiday calendar of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). This means that banks, including public and private, will operate as usual on April 23, 2024.

When is the next bank holiday?

April 26 is a bank holiday in Bengaluru due to the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections, according to the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI's) holiday calendar.

The RBI will also likely declare bank holidays in other cities for polling. For instance, banks in Chennai, Shillong, Dehradun and other cities were shut on April 19 due to the first phase of polling.

Banks will also be closed on April 27, i.e. fourth Saturday.

The next nationwide bank holiday is on May 1, which marks Labour Day, Maharashtra Day, and Gujarat Day.
