Income Tax Refunds: What taxpayers are experiencing

For many taxpayers, one of the biggest concerns is how long it takes to receive a tax refund after filing.

CA Chirag Chauhan shared that he received his refund within 7 days, suggesting the process is faster this year.

In contrast, user Ashutosh Dubey reported filing and verifying his return on June 9, but as of now, has not received his refund.

Another user, Ashitosh Suryavanshi, made an emotional appeal regarding a pending refund that is impacting his wife's medical treatment.

These highlight that while many refunds are being processed swiftly, some delays persist.

Tips to avoid errors and delays

To ensure a smooth and error-free return process, taxpayers should:

⦁ Cross-check all entries with Form 26AS, AIS, and TIS to prevent mismatches.

⦁ Track your return and refund status on the Income Tax e-filing portal: Use the "View Filed Returns" and "Refund/Demand Status" sections.

⦁ If your refund is delayed beyond a reasonable timeframe, you can: File a grievance via the e-Nivaran system. Contact the Centralized Processing Centre (CPC) helpline

As of now, no official announcement has been made regarding any further extension beyond September 15, 2025.
